  • Fantastic Product for Immune Support!

    By on

I have cats infected with the feline herpes virus (FHV) and they occasionally get "kitty colds" that manifest as runny eyes, sometimes nose. I have an 18 year old that this was nearly fatal for, as he would get extremely sick, and a young one who is also FIV positive, so an FHV flare can be serious. I keep everyone on lysine daily (1/4 tsp for the high risk, 1/8 tsp for everyone else) and it keeps the FHV flares away, almost 100%. Neither of the high risk has flared since maintaining this regimen and I've only had two very brief flares of eye discharge among the others. Given that most domesticated cats have now been exposed to FHV, this supplement is a must have!

  • Great for feline herpes

    By on

After adopting a cat from a local shelter, it appeared he brought with him the feline herpes virus. I took him to the vet and bought anti viral meds but they only lasted for as long as the prescription was for. A lot of cat sites mentioned L-Lysene so I tried it. I LOVE IT! 1/2 scoop twice a day and he has not come down with any symptoms since. I could not be happier!!! Thank you. And Chewy's reps are nicer than nice!!!

  • some of my cats arent thrilled

A wonderful product, but a few of my cats won't accept it in their food. It may be the fishy smell. Yet, my stray and 2 of my own cats have no problem. I guess it just depends on the cats taste.

  • Seems like a good product for an immune boaster

    By on

My new adopted kitten had a runny nose and was sneezing. After taking him to the vet she thought it might be an allergy not a respiratory infection. I started giving him a small amount of this product and the sneezing and running nose disappeared after a week.

  • Hey You is doing well on this

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My elderly cat has feline herpes that has effected his eyes. We have tried drops and antibiotics. The antibiotics helped but he has to have drops daily to keep it in control. He does not allow us to put drops in his eyes - claws - bites - runs away. In order to get drops in his eyes we had to take him to the vet everyday which stressed him as much as trying to medicate him at home. I decided to try L-Lysine to help. After a month I do see improvement. It can be mixed in his food, and he doesn't even know it is there.

  • Easy to use

    By on

I like the powder version as it is easy to mix into my cat's food and he doesn't know he's getting it. Much easier to give him than in treat form. P.S. Today is four years since I rescued him (he was one at the time)

Regular part of my rescues' daily routine. Great brand and only reorder this one and from Chewy.com . I sprinkle amt recommended over their food. We feed wet and dry daily. Recommend sprinkling over wet if u feed your cats both wet and dry. If not sprinkle over dry.

  • Easy to Use and All My Cats Eat It

    By on

I have 4 cats and I give it to all of them. One of them, for sure, has Feline Herpes so I started this as a preventative and an immune boost for my 2 white cats. My oldest cat (14) doesn't like the powder. So, I dissolve it in a bit of water so there is no grit. Once I did that, she had no problem eating it. The rest of them eat it just fine. I just add it to their wet food and mix it in. Easy peasy and my cats take it in stride. :-)

  • Clears up 'the crusties'

    By on

I was looking for a product to help the cats we have who have allergies. In the past, they've developed what the vet calls "the crusties" on their backs and would receive an allergy vaccine about every 2 months. They eat good quality food so we didn't know what else to do. Within a month of sprinkling the l-lysine on their food, the crusties are gone. If a cat needs a larger dose than on their food it's easy to mix with water in a syringe and give them. They love the flavor. This product is saving us a ton in vet bills as well as no stress in giving it to the cats. It does take several weeks to work, but that's to be expected because it takes time for any kind of sore to heal.
