My cat DaisyMae is almost 11 years old. She has always suffered from off and on respiratory type issues for years. She has been to several vets. She has been on courses of antibiotics, both shots and oral, and other meds. Never could get a definitive diagnosis. Sometimes she would improve, but it would come back. This last bout was scary as she had troubling discharge from eye and nose as well as trouble breathing - fluid choking her and even interfering with her ability to drink water. I read the reviews of this product and decided to give it a try. I have been giving her this for about a week or so and it is the best I have seen her in a very long time. No more discharge. My other indoor cat, 18 years old, has not had the same issues. I am pleased with this product thus far and am relieved to have results for my DaisyMae. … more

  • Helps keep cats healthy

At our place we have "indoor" cats (ours), "office" cats (fosters), and "porch" cats (strays & homeless neighborhood cats). Our indoor cats are usually pretty healthy and I only give them Lysine if one of them catches a kitty-cold. But the office cats and porch cats have had tougher lives and often come to us with runny eyes, runny noses, and other common illnesses from living on the streets. For these cats I give Lysine every morning and it makes an amazing difference, even for outdoor and feral cats. In a matter of days or a week at the most cats look and act healthier, and the Lysine keeps them healthy. Highly recommend.

  • Works for kitty colds

Don’t know for sure if this product worked or just time, but I had 2 kitties with the sniffles & sneezing. Read online this helped. As I have 4 cats, thought I better get them well before they all got sick. Within 3 days of using the product, all kitties are sniffle-free. There was no taste issue with them either, as the powder is flavored. My one complaint was the container was packed against heavy box of canned cat food, which caused the container to pop open. Was able to scoop most of the powder from the chewy box, but what a mess.

  • Great for my picky eater.

My cat, a stray who became part of our family several years ago, was diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (kitty AIDS, basically). His health was declining and he was very thin, along with having weepy eyes and frequent vomiting. I was seriously considering having him put to sleep to end his suffering when my vet suggested that I try L-Lysine supplements. He wouldn't touch the treats I bought from the vet, so I did some research and gave this powder a try. Not only does my cat like the flavor and will eat his canned food with it sprinkled on top, his health has improved immensely. I really feel that this product saved his life.

  • So Far So Good...

I bought this to mix with my cat’s wet food in order to help with her sneezing. She shows no other symptoms and is otherwise a healthy energetic cat. Vet is stumped and recommended this as an additive to try. While sneezing has not gone away completely, it has definitely diminished. Hoping it goes away completely, but one or two sneezes a day is definitely better than what she was going through before. We’ll take it!

I know there are mixed feelings among vets about whether this works. I have used it for my cats for years - per my previous vet. At that time, she said to go to the local pharmacy and buy the pills and crumble them up and give them to ALL the cats in the house for 30 days. Having always had strays, they often have upper respiratory issues. My last kitty was not a stray and I had forgotten about the lysine. He recently passed away and I adopted two shelter kitties. One was on antibiotic for upper respiratory and one was not. On the last day of the antibiotics, my kitty started coughing again, so i got this. Even though the new Vet has said this doesn't help, It has been a week, and neither I know there are mixed feelings among vets about whether this works. So much easier than the old days of crumbling up a big giant human vitamin. I am not a Vet, but it sure appears to be working for my new furry additions. … more

  • Amazing!!!!!!!

We adopted a kitty that no one wanted because she was FIV+. She was 11 mo. old and lived at the shelter her whole life. We fell in love with her and took her home. She was EXTREMELY sneezy and kept getting little rashy bumps. We started her on this Tomlyn L-Lysine powder and within a few weeks the rash was gone and she rarely sneezes, even now. She is happy, healthy and has a HUGE personality. We absolutely adore her. And I am so thankful for this Tomlyn powder!!!! She LOVES the taste and is doing so well!!

  • Not sure if it helps

Vet recommended for an older cat with a persistent upper respiratory issue. Am starting on jar number three and still not really sure whether it helps or not - she isn't better but then again she isn't worse. On a positive note, she doesn't mind eating it sprinkled on wet food and the dosage is so small a jar lasts a long time!

  • Easy! Worked fantastic for my stubborn cat and his eye!!

My 1 cat is EXTREMELY finicky about food. He won't eat ANY type of wet food nor tuna or other fish....only dry meow mix. I've tried so many different brands n types....i gave up after my wallet went dry n a year passed. He's had a condition in his right eye since he was neutered...been to a few different vets, each 1 a few times. Nothing has cured whatever he has. I then found out about lysine and tried multiple types n forms of it...this is the ONLY 1 i can get him to eat. I spritz the top layer w water n sprinkle it on, and voilá! He eats his food with no hesitation...like nothing is different. His eye started getting better within a week!! It's not cured, but it's a huge leap forward!! • Cats actually like this product!

    By on

I purchased a different brand from my vet when it was recommended for my cat. Unfortunately, both of my cats hated the taste and would shake their heads at the first taste. I found the same brand on Chewy, but this one was much cheaper and I thought, maybe, just maybe, they would like this one. And, they did! Cats don't react at all to it being added to their dishes - win! Highly recommended. Also, cat was flaring when we received the product and it took care of it right away, so it's cheaper, tastes better and WORKS!
