  • Tomlyn Joint & Hip Chews with MSM and Glucosamine for cats

    By on

I am sure this is a good product, it smells good and has a good texture. I have three cats and they are not really picky with their food but not one of them would eat the chews. They were not interested in it at all. So if you have a picky cat I would not recommend this item.

  • My old cats flip for these!

    By on

I am suprised these treats are getting mixed reviews! Not only do they have the highest levels of active ingredients that I have ever found in a soft treat, both of my senior cats scarf them down. In fact I just have to shake the bag and my barn cat comes running from wherever he is on the property. They are big but I have never had a bag where they weren't soft enough to split in two. After trying powders, other soft treats, and pills wrapped in all manner of things I am so relieved to find a potent product that is EASY to give with no wasted/uneaten doses.

Cat so far is not a fan. Pieces too big and he just doesn't seem interested.

  • Although this product has the ingredients I wanted for my cat, these "Chews" are not chewable!

    By on

These chews are WAY to big for most cats to chomp. Because they are VERY hard, older cats who need this supplement most may have difficulty with the hardness on their gums or teeth. I thought I could chop them up or soak them soft. Not so! So disappointed since the ingredients are overall good. They just need to make them Much softer& smaller to accommodate cats. My cat could not eat these.

  • Finally! A joint treat that he'll eat and is good for him!

    By on

I've tried many different joint supplement treats for my cat and either he wouldn't eat them, or they contained all sorts of junk/fillers. This one is the perfect balance -- he'll eat them and they're good for him. The only annoying thing is that the dose is "half a chew." While they're easy enough to cut (long, thin, and soft), I can't help but wonder why they didn't just make them half the size...

  • Just way too big for cats, even at 1/2 a chew dosage.

These have great ingredients, BUT they are HUGE for a cat, and realistically, I have to break it into quarters, and even then getting the cat to eat a whole quarter at once is a bribery challenge and she only does it because I wont give her any YUMMY treats until after she eats this one. The dosage is 1/2 a chew daily, and she gets half that - maybe. Does it help? Yes - but it would probably help more if she got the full dose. It's not a great solution, even half a dose (1/4 a "treat") is difficult to get the cat to eat because it's still quite large. I think they just repackaged the DOG version, honestly. They are easy to break into smaller pieces as they are soft but not so soft as to completely These have great ingredients, BUT they are HUGE for a cat, and realistically, I have to break it into quarters, and even then getting the cat to eat a whole quarter at once is a bribery challenge and she only does it because I wont give her any YUMMY treats until after she eats this one. • Didn't go over well with older cats.

    By on Top 50 Contributor

We are a fur family of 7 rescues. The older ones 17 & 14 were my main reason for trying this. I broke it in half and tried with all 7. Only 3 would touch it. Frank our 17 yr old liked it no problems there. Scorpio who has become more frail threw it up and got the squirts from it. Fiona was not thrilled tried it once but not 2 days later. So only 1 cat will eat it. Would I go this route again maybe not since it didn't go over well. I guess not all cats tolerate it. They do break into pieces easily and are somewhat soft for a cat to chew. The pouch can be resealed which is good.

  • Wonderful product with great ingredients but...

    By on Top 250 Contributor

The cats that need these won't eat them and that's unfortunate. Even if break them up into small pieces and hide them in their favorite, wet cat food. To administer according to the directions, the chews have to be broken in half and their already big pieces to begin with. That part makes no sense to me. Why not make them bite size?? I guess it's irrelevant if the cats dislike them. Great ingredients that would be very helpful if palatable.

My cat Brownee has a luxating patella and arthritis in his right knee. He will get surgery soon. I started giving him this treat for about a year :)
