Top 1000 Contibutor

Runnier than expected, but liked by both cats

One of my cats is longhaired and unfortunately extremely anti-social. It makes grooming him a Herculean task. To keep his hairballs from getting too bad, I have to rely on alternative options, including hairball gels, but due to his anti-social behavior, it has to be something he will lick willingly out of a bowl. Applying it to his paws is a non-option. Luckily, this remedy fits that bill. The bowl is definitely necessary, too, because this stuff is much runnier than the usual petrolatum based version. The other cat likes it, too, but she's shorthaired, much less picky, and much more social, so the bigger issue is usually making sure she doesn't just lick it all up before he can get to it.

Gross and Oily Mess!

I've ordered the Tuna Flavored one in the past, but since it was out of stock I tried this one and it was terrible. For one, my food-desperate-will-eat-anything cat wouldn't get near this stuff. My cat not eating it is mostly luck of the draw so I don't blame the product too much, however, my biggest qualm is with the super oily texture and poor packaging. The texture of the paste itself is notably different than the tuna/catnip ones, as it is fully opaque, greasier, and lighter in color. Recently I picked it up (probably been 1-2 weeks since last use), and an ocean of oil poured out of it all over my counter, my hand was covered in it! I thought that I had tightened it enough, but even if I hadn't, oil shouldn't be pooling up and spilling out to that extent. My first thought is that maybe human error in played a part in this, but I've had issues with the bottle from the other flavor in the past. You have to tighten it VERY securely, or it will seep out because the lid is on the bottom and it's basically just oily goo that will seep into the cracks of the bottle. I just bought the catnip flavor to replace it and so far it's basically the same as the tuna one and much less oily with a smooth consistency. I do like this product, just not this flavor!

Good Solution for Unhappy Kitty Tummies

Hi. I'm Digby, a senior kitty that has had problems with hairballs for, well, like "forever". Tomlyn's hairball remedy is easy to eat (and believe me, I'm picky!) and also works like a charm. No more hairballs! I like the fact that it's a natural product and that I feel much better. It improves my health, as well, because I get the nutrition from my regular diet because I'm not losing my breakfast & dinner. So it has helped me maintain my svelte figure!

Wonderful natural alternative

I love this product because it contains no petroleum. I wouldn't put petroleum (Vaseline) on my skin, let alone eat it. So, I'm thrilled to find a natural alternative. My cat loves the flavor. I give it to her when she loses her appetite because that's the first sign she's cooking a hairball. She regains her appetite and usually doesn't hurl a hairball.

Hairball remedy..Chicken flavor

I made a mistake in buying salmon flavored hairball remedy. They hated it, even though it worked...So, I tried this flavor and instantly loved it! I can open the cap and put some on it and they lick it off. I even put it on their paw and they lick it off. I put it in their food and they do notice this, but eventually eat the rest of the food.

Finally, Something that works!

One of my cats really hates to be brushed. He also is an extremely picky eater and turns his nose up at most foods, let alone items like this. I've tried the hairball food for him, with no luck. Tomlyn Laxatone Natural Hairball Remedy is a hit in my house! Abby does like the flavor, and I've noticed a big difference in the amount of hairballs.

Not as thick, & oily

I bought this product to try something different. The other product I have been using is Hartz Hairball Remedy Plus Salmon Flavor Paste. Of the 7 cats I own, only 3 will freely lick this from the tube. The remaining, I have to smear this on their paws, which they will lick off.

Definitely helped!

A senior cat was cleaning himself a lot, coughing a lot. I was concerned of hairballs so before a trip to the vet, I tried it. It worked! He licked it on a spoon without fighting! Definitely saved a vet bill & happier cat!

Another loser

I know it's the cat, not the product but I surely wish we could get something that these two would eat and help eliminate the constant cleaning up after hairballs being thrown up. It's chicken flavor and we were so hoping we had a winner. Other two cats eat catlax well.

Chicken flavor Natural Hairball Remedy

The cats LOVE it so much better than the petroleum version. I first tried the petroleum version and was so disappointed because they wouldn't even come close to it and they would just walk away. This is great because they LOVE it! So, I can get it in them easily - they just lick it off my finger. It works too! There are far less hairball surprises now.
