    Try grinding it up

By SheldonsMom on Mar 8, 2021

My budgie wouldn’t touch it at first. Then, suspecting the pellets might be too big, i ground some in my Cuisinart LittlePro. What a change! It’s now one of his faves. Normally, all his favorites are seeds, so I’m very happy to see him scarf this down.

    Tops Organic Parrot Pellets

My birds have always been on Roudybush pellets, I wanted to offer a little something more, however they will not eat these pellets. I have been trying for approximately 6 plus weeks and they want nothing to do with them except throw them.

    NOT for parakeets!

    By on

I purchased this item about a few weeks ago for my 2 parakeets in hopes that they can have something healthy in their diet. The bird type on Chewy stated that it was for “parakeets” but that’s not the case. The pellets were too large for my bird beak to chew on. i even tried to wet it, but sadly they did not like the texture. If you have a larger bird, these are great but it’s definitely not for parakeets! :)

    Great for conures and budgies!

    By on

I am an avian care professional and TOP's is my favorite pellet to feed my own 3 birds - one special needs green cheek conure and two budgies. For the budgies, I lightly crush the pellets with the bottom of clean glass just so they're a bit smaller and easier to manage. I noticed a higher feather and skin quality after about 4 months of use. Don't forget, companion parrots are picky and stubborn - it might take work to introduce them to this pellet, especially if you have birds who scrutinize anything green (heaven knows, it could be a vegetable *gasp*). Be patient, and do your research on safe, healthy strategies for food conversion. great quality

I had been wanting to order it for my two cockatiels for awhile and they finally got it on chewy. I love that it doesn’t have al that unneeded ingredients such as sugar and preservatives, I like knowing that they’re eating something wholesome. I took off one star for the fact that I wanted to order the petite size for them as opposed to small but they didn’t have it in the smaller bag. Another star off because my birds don’t seem to care much for it which is a shame, I tried slowly adding it and then giving it to them cold turkey but nothing. They ended up just throwing the pellets everywhere instead. Healthy food for my feathered friends!

    By on

One of the healthier versions of bird food. It's USDA Organic Certified and perfect for my budgies and cockatiels. Contains natural source of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients. It's preserved with rosemary, rose hips, lemon and orange peel (and non-GMO). I really like that id doesn't have fillers, like soy, corn, BHA, BHT or ethoxyquin. No fake colors, flavors, sugars or preservatives. I recommend trying the seeds as well.

    Bratty birds

    By on

I'm shocked at how most other bird food products contain primarily corn, with sugar, and sometimes animal products. I wanted something better for them and I don't always have time to cook for them! I'm kinda mad at my brat birds for not liking this food. It seems to have integrity of ingredients. I tried mixing it in with other food, but they picked through and never touched it. I'm going to try giving it to them exclusively to see if they eat it out of desperation, perhaps they will learn to accept it.

    He Ate It!

    By on

My lovebird Evo was weaned on to Zupreem fruitblend pellets. Today I switched out his dish with TOP's Mini Pellets, and he took right to it. Immediately! No preservatives. No food coloring. Nothing I can't pronounce. I'm glad he's eating it because he refuses to eat vegetables fresh. So until I can supplement him with fresh veggies, I feel reassured by the ingredient list of TOP's Pellets.

My Caiques really like this. They prefer small size pellets. I will certainly continue to purchase.

    New Pellets

    By on

My matriarch eats it, it is new to them usually kaytee exact natural pellets, tried this, will keep offering and if they start to like it will order again. I have 14 handicapped rescues, all cockatiels,. It looks good to me especialy as they do not like colored foods - a few of the adventurous boys have tried it.
