Torus Filtered Dog & Cat Water Bowl, 68-oz

This dish holds a surprising amount of water and it is weighted...features I like because of convenience and the fact that I have a robotic vacuum that always seems to bump my pet food bowls and water dishes. My pets prefer gravity water bowls. They are fascinated by them, so I was hoping they would be just as interested in something like this. They tolerate the bowl because the water is fresh and filtered, but I do find them gravitating to the other gravity bowls more. What surprised me was how shallow the water is when the bowl automatically refills. It seems like there is barely any water in it. I have a basset hound that drinks from the bottom of the bowl. Full on rare back and dunk with air bubbles from the nose. Gravity fed units would put enough water in the basin to cause overflow when the whole head and ears are submerged. Standard bowls have much of the same problem initially and require filling twice a day. This bowl, I fill once every 2 days and the basin holds much less water preventing overflow. I think I can now get rid of the bowl mat that catches a face full of dripping basset...

My pets love it but me, too. I think is a clever idea to keep the water inside and a small amount out. The pets have clean water. Also, this water bowl comes with a filter. Very easy to fill it. Every day, I pay attention to the water that is outside and if it is dirty I close the lid so that the water inside does not leak. So I can get the water out without difficulty. I think that having bought this has been a good decision.

This is an awesome water bowl for our dachshund. She was afraid of the ones with a pump. This water bowl dispenses water as she drinks water and leaves a small amount in the bowl. This bowl uses a water filter. I completely change water out every morning and clean basin. Twice, during the day, I lock it and dump water in bowl and swipe it clean, shake it to add air bubbles to water in reservoir and return it to it's spot. I then turn it back on and fresh filtered water is dispensed. There is no pump so any hair, dust, saliva, is going to remain in the bowl. That's why I clean it twice during the day as she uses it. I have 2 cats, one is 16 ys old and the other is almost 18 months old. The younger one likes to play in the water and drag around small lighter water bowls. I had a water filtration for them and I threw it away because the motor kept dying on me. I came across this. I have had it now for about 3 weeks. no issues with it, my younger cat likes to drop his mouse toys in the water but he is not dragging it across the floor. He will still paw at it but nothing like he used to. Cleaning it is different. So far I have not experienced gook, I did get some carbon from the filter and I was able to rinse that away. I do clean the inside once a week per the instructions with a dab of dishwashing liquid I have 2 cats, one is 16 ys old and the other is almost 18 months old. I do have another water bowl for the cats (it's one of those gravity water bowls that you fill up and my friend built a cover for it so the younger cat can't drag it around). Between the two bowls, we have plenty of water for our two cats. I recommend this. I was going back and forth on this bowl. I was worried about her hair getting in it and how to keep it clean. Haven’t had that problem. I got this as a secondary bowl. She has some ceramic ones that I changed out daily. Since I put this down she hasn’t touched her old bowls. I got the large. She’s fine with the size. Because our water tends to be different colors I only use bottled water, so I can’t comment on how good the filter is. I still have it in the bowl and will keep using them.

We have two dogs, 60-80 lbs, and prior to buying the Torus we used a 3-gallon gravity water bowl. It took up a lot of room, was a pain to fill (but we only had to fill it every few days), got dirty easily, and one of my dogs would drink way too much and spill a lot or throw up water. The Torus has been a great change! It is sturdy and my dogs do not move it. It only has a limited amount of water in the bowl so my dogs drink more slowly and do not drip as much. I like that it is easy to clean every day. The only downside is now we have to fill it twice a day but it takes about 2 minutes and it is making us more aware of if our dogs are drinking enough water.

Bought this because we needed to segregate one of our cats for a while. Wanted something that would hold a good volume of water so I didn't have to constantly refill it. But now all the cats love it and we just keep it in the bedroom now. The water isn't too high that it spills if kicked, but enough that the kitties notice it. The filter keeps the water nice for them. I am going to order another for my sewing room! I know when to refill when water gets down to water entrance hole. So easy!

This water bowl is great! My two dogs drink a lot throughout the day, especially living in the desert SW. I love the fact that I can fill this up and have enough fresh water to last all day (and, sometimes, into the next day). Plus, you can lock the water flow so you can take the bowl of water with you without worrying about spillage.

My dog is a very messy drinker. Water was all over my kitchen all the time. Since this only fills a small amount at a time he needs to put his snout deeper into the bowl. This contains the mess. I am very happy with it.
