When used as prescribed, side effects while using Trifexis are rare. Symptoms of gastrointestinal distress and skin irritation can occur. Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, lack of appetite, and itching and reddening of the skin have been reported. Vomiting may be more likely in puppies under 14 weeks of age. If your dog is truly allergic to Trifexis or to the dying of parasites, she may exhibit symptoms such as facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma. If your dog experiences any of these symptoms, call your veterinarian or a local emergency veterinarian immediately.
Always communicate with your veterinarian about any medications, vitamins, or supplements your dog is already taking. Some serious adverse reactions have been documented when used with other spinosad and ivermectin medications simultaneously. No known food interactions have been reported.
The use of ivermectin at higher than FDA approved doses at the same time as Trifexis can result in serious side effects. Treatment with fewer than three monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitoes may not provide complete heartworm prevention. Prior to administration of Trifexis, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection. Use with caution in breeding females. The safe use of Trifexis in breeding males has not been evaluated. Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy. The most common adverse reactions reported are vomiting, decreased activity, itching, decreased appetite, and diarrhea. To ensure heartworm prevention, observe your dog for one hour after administration. If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, re-dose with another full dose. Puppies less than 14 weeks of age may experience a higher rate of vomiting. For complete safety information, please see Trifexis product label or ask your veterinarian.
140 mg Spinosad and 2.3 mg Milbemycin Oxime.
Trifexis is a beef-flavored chewable tablet and may be given from your hand, mixed in with food or placed in a treat. Give Trifexis with food for maximum effectiveness. To ensure heartworm prevention, observe your dog for one hour after dosing. If your dog vomits within an hour of administration, re-dose with another full dose.
Administer one tablet once every month to provide year-round protection for dogs and puppies 8 weeks and older and 5 pounds or greater. If you miss a dose, immediately administer Trifexis with food and resume monthly dosing. This will minimize the opportunity for heartworm infection. Also, continuing normal monthly dosing will help allow you to gain control of any flea infestation or intestinal parasite infection that might have affected your dog.

Just started my 4 year old puppies on Trifexis. So far working well with no adverse side effects. Left getting prescription from my Vet to Chewy and got free shipping as well ;)
I love chewy and so does my puppies. Best service and great quality of everything you get
Seems to aid in controlling fleas and worms and is easy to give my Chihuahua.
I have used this product for years and have had no issues with heart worms
Our littlest love is 16 years old going on 17 in October! Trifexis has protected her for her entire life! Zazz has a double coat so fleas can get lost in there but with trifexis their days are numbered!
I didn’t realize that this doesn’t protect against ticks. I’m so disappointed and now I have five months left to give this to my dog. We live in a high tick area too.
Used for years with different dogs. Does the job nicely..
if you want great products and service at a good price this is the place3.
We love Chewy
I used this product over the summer for my Cavalier. I used a different product for my Boston Terrier. Cavalier had consistent fleas throughout summer on his coat, the Boston did not.
