When switching to Triumph from another pet food, allow 7-10 days for the transition. Mix increasing amounts of Triumph with decreasing amounts of your pet's previous food until you are feeding only Triumph.
my 3 cats wont touch the food i even put gravy on it thay licked the gravy off and wont touch the food i mix the gravy in the food now thay wont nouch the gravy or the food
Unfortunately, my three girls are not a fan of this food. I bought a case each of the beef and of the turkey months ago, and despite repeated attempts, they have not eaten it. This is atypical of them; theytend to eat whatever is served.
It’s canned pate cat food so obviously it’s not particularly appetizing from my stand point but both of my (not particularly picky) cats eat it without complaint. More importantly, my diabetic cat can eat this without having any rise in his BG! In face his numbers have decreased slightly and we may even be able to reduce his insulin dose slightly thanks to his new diet (switched from wholehearted pates).
I would prefer it not have carrageenan, added color, ash and magnesium, but at least they are low on the list. I like it that it doesn't have soy, wheat, corn and artificial ingredients, though I don't know whether the added color is natural and safe. I like it that it says that it meets the AAFCO nutrition requirements. I think they should spell out on the can what AAFCO stands for to reassure the clientele. I don't know if my cats are holding out for the other brand they used to eat, but they all show up in the kitchen for their canned food. Two cats eat a spoonful at a time, and one tries to bury it afterwards. The other two will eat their own and the others' food. It works well to make a milkshake consistency with warm water and distribute two spoonfuls to each cat, 1-2x/day (dry cat food is at another location). One can lasts me 2 1/2 days. In a little over a week, I've used three cans. When it is first opened it, it smells good. The top part is pinkish, other parts are a light brown color. In the first two cans, there was hardly any aroma in the middle to lower regions and the color of the food was questionable. In the third can it got better, both in aroma and color. I thought there might be something about the can that altered the flavor, so after I scooped out what I used for that meal, I transferred the rest into a sandwich bag with the air pushed out, another sealable bag over that and put it in a glass storage jar with a plastic suction glass lid. After it has been refrigerated for two hours, it turns a light taupe color. The second day in the frig, it looks grayish brown and the scent is weaker, which makes me wonder if it has lost vitamins. I tried adding a liquid vitamin-mineral to it, but they wouldn't eat it after a couple licks.
I have 9 or 10 feral cats and they didn't like this cat food.
Cats love it I'm still researching it, I know we've used the dog food.
The Triumph beef and Triumph chicken formulas have worked well for us as an alternative to Authority. Our 10yo gal had started dealing with some bladder stone issues right when Authority started disappearing from shelves last spring. We couldn't find it anywhere! We tried out a number of different brands to find something that didn't upset her tum. Now she's on a combo of Triumph and Hill's c/d. I wish Chewy would offer suggestions of similar food formulas when they discontinue brands, and give us some warning so we have time to transition diets before it's gone completely.
I had been a devotee to Triumph cat food for several years - good quality at a good price. However, during the past few months, the texture of the food has changed very noticeably: it has somehow been watered down to a gloppy mess! I am in the process of searching for another brand of cat food.
Both of my picky cats love this cat food. I wasn't able to find it at my usual pet store, but Chewy got it to me very quickly.
I don't know why but my cats just don't eat this food. They got sick when I first tried it but have just turn their noses up at it now.
