    Not for my picky eaters

    By on

Thought my girls would love it. Tried everything to get them to eat it. No dice. Has great ingredients but not for my picky girls.

My dogs love it, even Lucy (she's 15 and on canned food) wanted to taste it!

My dogs like this; I try other brands mixed in with their usual just to keep them a little more open to change, in case of the event that their usual food is unavailable. A change of even 50/50 mix right away will cause them to have diarrhea...one needs to understand ANY change of food can have that result. It is to be done a small amount at a time. So, after a couple of weeks they are all eating this mixed in with their usual food, at about 50/50 and they all are doing fine. Because this has a smaller and bit flatter kibble, I offered a small amount of it to Lucy, who is 15, now blind and hard of hearing, but still a happy girl. She ate it! She normally eats canned food now, two a day My dogs like this; I try other brands mixed in with their usual just to keep them a little more open to change, in case of the event that their usual food is unavailable. Because this has a smaller and bit flatter kibble, I offered a small amount of it to Lucy, who is 15, now blind and hard of hearing, but still a happy girl. She ate it! She normally eats canned food now, two a day, so that was awesome! I am mixing it with one can of food in the morning. She has had no change in her stool, and that's really great. I also got her some of the canned Triumph to mix with her usual canned food., I am happy to report she fared well on that too. I do want to point out that while this food is less expensive, it would take more of it to feed my 70lb dogs than their usual food. And their usual food is over 33% protein, where this is 22% protein, so, that is something to consider, especially with a larger dog. Higher protein, less food, yields smaller stools. I like that this is manufactured in USA, I do look for that in the food I feed my dogs. So, I give this a four star. My dogs love it. I just don't think as their mom I'd give mine a 100% change to this, not when they have always been on a higher protein diet. … more

    Better than Fromm :)

    By on

Not sure why I never tried this brand of duck and sweet potato food - we have found that this is the only combination that both of our dogs can tolerate (one gets the runs with chicken, the other can't have beef and so on). Our hand was forced when Fromm pulled their food from Chewy's website (we'll never leave you chewy!) to try this brand, it's significantly cheaper and same if not better quality! We're still on our first bag, so I'm not sure if the weight difference is going to mess up when we ship but that'll be easy enough to figure out. Glad I was still able to get quality dog food and FOR CHEAPER for our furry kids :)

I got this dog food for my senior greyhound who has stomach issues. She's done well on this dog food. It's a good quality food.
