This was easy to put together except for the feet. Very difficult to get that tiny screw into the channels of the foot. The entire thing is stained rather than painted. I’ll probably paint it in the spring so it will be more weatherproof. The wind kept blowing the doors shut so I taped one side open. When it’s warm enough, I’ll add a hook and eye to keep it open. Cat has eaten food in there two days in a row.
It smells like Cedar, it's pretty and easy to put together. I put it outside for the outdoor cats and they are too big for it. I have to leave the back opened for the one to lay on the bottom shelf. The middle and top shelf is too small they cannot get in there. I would recommend this for kittens only.
I would have given this 0 stars if it was an option. This "house" is cheaply made, poor construction, terrible layout.Just save your money, I wish I would have. Overall this is just extremely disappointing.
Item arrived fast. The only issue was there was a small piece broken on the trim of the roof.
So many damages! The color is not the same as shown. It’s light purple. It is a cute design, but it looks like others had similar issues. You’d be rolling the dice with this product.
I have a different trixie house I want to replace. After 3 years the platforms are deteriorating due to them being made out of some sort of weird pressed "wood like" product. Admittedly I did not look super closely, but what I now see as I attempt to put it together is that the bottom actually is not correctly aligned for the openings. There is a deck in front when there is really no reason for this to be there. The deck should align with the side door IMHO. I am glad this is not manufactured wood - a plus so with some good marine vanish it should last well. Another thing is that the previous one did have a hinged roof and this one does not the hinge is helpful for cleaning.
We've had this for years, and it remains a popular place for our cats to perch and crawl into. First, the top is flat, so it's a great place for ferals to get an elevated view of things. Ours love getting up there and hanging out. Second, we have ours in a recessed part of our house where the kitchen window is. This provides an overhang of sorts to keep direct weather off of it most of the time, and it only gets morning sun for several hours and is shaded the rest of the day. Third, I leave the doors open with the shelf for easier entry/exit - unless it's winter, then i close it up and they can crawl in through the flap. Sometimes the cats sit on the shelf/through the door and hang out. Fourth, upon getting this, I immediately painted it with a quality exterior grade latex paint. The wood took the paint impressively, I could paint it to match our house, and it's held up insanely well over several years. Take my advice, buy some sample paint - like a pint size - and seal this baby in with quality paint if you intend to have it outdoors. It is rather small looking, but remember, the bigger the space the harder to retain heat. Cats fit into surprisingly small spaces and the inside has 3 levels with square holes where they can climb up into and be comfy/quiet. I've often thought of putting a little camera in there to see if someone is inside :)
Really cute house A little disappointed that a piece was damaged it did not affect functionality but just an eyesore
Why formaldehyde?? There is Zero reason for spraying or soaking this cabinet, for sure. The ridiculous addition of a poisonous toxicity in the year,2022 is JUST GALLING!!!!!
We’ve had this cat house, outdoors, unprotected for about 2 1/2 years and I barely managed to salvage it, to bring it inside. I’m giving this 3 stars, only because it did hold up outside for a couple years. Had it not been advertised as “waterproof for outdoor use”, I’d have given it a 5 star rating. It would probably hold up better on a covered, screened in patio, but I certainly would NOT recommend it for “outdoor use”.
