My cat loves the scratching post! However, the scratching bristles fall out really easily. While I love my cat, she’s not always the smartest. She rubs herself against it, the bristles fall off and then she tries to eat them. I’ve had to take that whole part off because she keeps trying to eat them. Also the first time she played with the ball part, the ball came off the string.
I did not purchase the back scratcher at base, just the Large hammock. It is an absolute winner! The cats now have to have their own and may order them for multiple rooms. It's so cozy that they curl up in it and nap. Best part is that they prefer the hammock to my sofa or bed. I bought it in ivory/cream shade.
Each of the cats love the new hammock best! It is the largest and the softest. It was easy to assemble, arrived promptly, and was well packaged. A good price for a great item!
This review applies to the Trixie plain white plush hammock, with the plain base and hanging toy. I got one about five years ago, and the response was so-so. I moved it around, thinking location may make a difference. Then I moved it upstairs in a corner of the bedroom. It seemed to make a difference and my now 14 y/o cat took to it. She would sleep in it day or night, and the sisal got a lot of action. In fact, I had to redo some of the sisal, and I wish the sisal they used was a larger diameter. There is a small hole worn in the fabric, although not a concern. It will stretch over the years of use with a cat laying in it. Recently, I adopted a new cat, and my one cat, who never showed any interest in the hammock decided she would use it. There was no friction, just how changes can make things different. So my cat who loved it, was out of luck. So naturally, I had to get another one. Within five minutes of receipt and assembly, she was already snuggled in the hammock. I moved it upstairs, and last night two cats in two hammocks. And this afternoon, of course the cat who never cared was in the new hammock. Oh, if you expect them to play with he fuzzy toy, mine never did.
Lily loves her hammock! I find her there hanging out all the time.
