Description

Trixie Dog Activity Chess Toy provides the perfect outlet for your dog’s energy and curiosity. Ideal for the advanced canine gamer, it rewards your pet for correctly opening various compartments. Simply hide your dog’s favorite treats in the compartments and watch as she uses her intellect to get to them. Due to the unique design, the cones cannot be knocked over and must be lifted straight up to be removed for an added challenge. Vary the number and placement of treats to increase the level of difficulty. The non-slip rubber feet keep the game in place as your dog explores. Trixie Dog Activity Chess Toy is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

  • Description isn't accurate

I wanted to try a more advanced toy for my labrador since he's mastered the Nina Ottoson brick puzzle. I decided on this one after seeing the great reviews and that the difficulty level *should* be higher than the one we already have. The description states "Due to the unique design, the cones cannot be knocked over and must be lifted straight up to be removed for an added challenge." This statement should be removed from the description entirely; our dog disproved this in a matter of seconds. He found the treats in all the compartments in about 30 seconds, knocking over every single cone piece with his nose while finding them. Not once did he need to lift these for the "added challenge" referenced I wanted to try a more advanced toy for my labrador since he's mastered the Nina Ottoson brick puzzle. He had fun, however I don't feel this product delivered on the difficultly level as advertised and the description is incredibly misleading. I would love to think my dog is a genius, but really the poor design made it super easy for him to figure out. If you are looking for a puzzle that really requires your dog to think/problem solve, this isn't it. … more

  • Not really a "game", but fun

    By on

My beagle loves this toy, but I wouldn't call it a "chess game". It is well made and heavy enough not to be pushed around by my medium dog, but I wish it didn't have loose parts that can be lost or carried off. It would have been better to just have a series of intact, easy to clean interactive things to do to get treats. I do like it because my dog likes it and it was priced right.

  • Fun for Border Collie

    By on

Our 4 y/o Border Collie Kate most definitely enjoys pawing and nosing to find the hidden treats. BC puppy William not quite as interested, but we attribute this to his 4 month old attention span.

  • Gets them thinking

    By on

I started my Springer mix, who's 1 1/2 years old, on a level 2 game. She aced it right away. This is a level 3, and is taking her a bit more time to master. I do wish the towers didn't just fall over. The should be in there a little tighter. Great game to help "smart" dogs think.

  • GSD enjoys it

    By on

I bought this for my GSD. She's pretty smart but it still takes her a minute to figure it out. Really, really easy to lose the yellow cones that come with it however, and those don't stand up to chewing at ALL.

  • Great puzzle toy

    By on

My terrier mix loves puzzles and quickly solves them when I try to make up my own so I gave this a try. She got the hang of it by the second try and I love that I can use different combinations to keep her interested. Great purchase.

  • Great entertainment !

My dog gets this game (3) level once a day for the recommended 10 minutes. When he sees me get it off the shelf he spins with excitement and then has fun fun fun.

  • Loved It Until We Lost The Parts

    By on

My dog loves to do puzzles and open things. This is great brain stimulation. However, we lost one of the yellow/orange cones and the others turned into chew toys without me looking. Would be great if they had replacements!

Tabi figure this out in no time I do recommend it for dogs that are not as smart as the Border Collie.
