Wait at least 60 minutes before (lightly) vacuuming to remove visible surface powder. For maximum efficacy, delay vacuuming for up to 24 hours. Reapply every two weeks or as needed to prevent reinfestation. Treat pets with TropiClean Flea & tick Shampoo prior to re-entry.

  • Goodbye Fleas

although messy, powders do go into fibers where the little critters live so I am guessing this product works.

So I found a single flea on my pup. But in my mind when there's one, there's more. So it' was time to take action. Of course I was a few days late with her flea spot-on so it was probably my fault so I applied that to her first and washed all bedding, blankets, clothing, toys etc. Then used this on the one small room with I have with a carpet. O. M. G. This stuff is DUUUSSTTYY. It's soooo fine. It went ok sprinkling it into the carpet but when you go to brush it in like the instructions state there's just big clouds of smoke-like dust going everywhere. Thank goodness I only have one room with carpet. You can't control it. Just touch it and a ploof of smoke arises (not actual smoke, obviously So I found a single flea on my pup. Thank goodness I only have one room with carpet. You can't control it. Just touch it and a ploof of smoke arises (not actual smoke, obviously but the powder is so fine that's what it looks like). I had to wear a respirator and turn a fan on pointed out the back door to un-cloud the house while I worked with it and make sure it didn't go too far. My kitchen is right next t the den where I was using it too and there was a layer of fine white dust on everything from the TV to the kitchen counter. SO needless to say that once this was vacuumed up, I also had to go dust. So, perhaps not the greatest thing to use when finding just one flea but worth the mess if you've got a full on flea war going and don't want to use harsh chemicals. I never did find any more fleas. Whether it be from this alone or all the stuff I used combined (her spot-on, this and the spray version of this) but ultimately, SOMETHING worked. So, in the end I'd say good product but crazy messy and nothing you can do about containing it either. Go for the spray instead if you don't want everything covered in fine dust, including your lungs. … more

  • Love it

    By on

I love this product I actually bought the carpet cleaner, the spray and the shampoo. The only thing I haven't tried is the shampoo but it's because now she's flea free. As for the other products I HIGHLY recommend buying it! I was very sceptical due to other products not working but I thought I would give it a shot due to it being inexpensive and natural! It works great I no longer see fleas in my house and I'm really excited about it! I'm so happy I found this product!

  • Good but beware about vacuum

I love that this is a natural product and it said it was safe to put directly on my dogs so I dusted them a little bit but it is hard to work into fur. It also mentioned it would not interfere with other topical treatments. I had already treated my dogs and cats but they still had fleas so I wanted to add something else to reinforce against the fleas but that wouldn't harm them since they had topical treatments already. I sprinkled the powder all over the main floor, dog beds and cat tree. It smells nice but it says to lightly brush the powder into the carpet with a broom and it made a HUGE dust storm that I wasn't really comfortable breathing in so I ended up wearing a mask and putting my pets I love that this is a natural product and it said it was safe to put directly on my dogs so I dusted them a little bit but it is hard to work into fur. The other thing that I didn't like is that while it sucks up easily, it ended up overheating my vacuum. I emptied the vacuum but didn't realize that the powder actually clogged the HEPA filter which caused the vacuum to overheat and cut off. If you use this product, be prepared to clean the filter or at least heavily shake it clean of powder several times during the vacuuming process. I'm not sure about the effectiveness of the powder because my dogs and cats still had fleas on them but we didn't have any jumping on us and I think the dogs were bringing in new fleas after they had gone outside and come back in again. It seems like a nice non-toxic alternative that smells good too and it is worth a try. … more

  • Works like a charm

    By on

I purchased this recently when we had a flea problem. We have 4 dogs, 2 indoor cats & outside feral cats hang around our property. We noticed fleas for the first time ever and our dogs scratching. We went all out and got several products that were worthless. This product has a pleasant citrus type smell to it and kills on contact. After vacuuming i looked at the cup in our vacuum and you could see the dead debris and fleas. We were not concerned about the product on our carpet and it vacuumed up well. Will use again if needed but hope we don't ever have to.

  • It's a gigantic mess to use.

It may (or may not) kill fleas, but I will NOT finish treating my house w/it b/c I will be cleaning up the mess for the next 10 years. Since treating our home, 3 rooms on the main level, we have fine, pumice like dust through out. It has been 24 hours and we are still experiencing the dusty air everywhere. I am having to wipe down the ceilings, walls, furniture, EVERYTHING. Even the thing I covered have dust and it keeps coming back just by walking through the house. And when you try to wipe it off you have to constantly rinse out the cleaning rag b/c you just end up smearing the dusty residue around. All the wood work, windows...over and over, again and again. I'm moved to tears wondering how It may (or may not) kill fleas, but I will NOT finish treating my house w/it b/c I will be cleaning up the mess for the next 10 years.
