Dog Food That Keeps It Real
Raw Diet Benefits

Raw Diet Benefits

A raw diet can be beneficial to your dog's health. It can help reduce itching and scratching that can be brought on by food allergies caused by gluten and grain fillers that are commonly found in other pet food formulas. And the natural enzymes and ground bone promote clean teeth. Plus, a cleaner diet means less poop during daily walks. So, it's a win-win for both you and your pup.

Make It a Meal
or Savory Topper

All you have to do is add water to your dog's bowl of TruDog Freeze-Dried to make it a gratifying meal, or use it as a tasty topper for a dose of added nutrition in your dog's favorite kibble. Using the formula as a topper at first can make for the perfect way to slowly introduce a raw diet to your pup.

  • PEACE OF MIND FEEDING THE BEST.

    By on

Justifying the cost being prohibitive unless you have a small dog as I do..16lb Shih Tzu, I feed 1/3 cup of my old kibble, Fromms, at this time the salmon choice, to 2/3 cup of Trudog beef. She doesn't like it wet and picks around the Fromms first to get the Trudog. However, I FINALLY have peace of mind she is getting the best. Has not been quite a month yet on Trudog but glad I ordered three bags right away and got on auto ship program for two bags of the 14oz. Seems to be stretching out just fine at that ratio, and now only once in awhile will she get just a mouthful of my dinner, which at those times she woofs down everything at once. I have not as yet seen any difference in her LONG coat or activity level but those are always great. Thing is now I no longer have to keep researching for the better dry dog food out there, I FOUND IT. Zip lock bags are great also. Like so many others I wish they had it in at least a 1lb bag geeeeeesh and hopefully but I doubt it will eventually lower the price. I feel terrible for those with larger dogs who just can not afford these prices and I certainly do understand...seems like a form of discrimination and that's really sad because this food has it all figured out what our dogs NEED, and love. Being freeze dried I also do not worry about taste of the product changing over time or spoilage. This is Carolynn and my Shih Tzu is Jasmin. … more

  • Good for older dogs not pups

    By on

took this to my vet and checked if it was good for the price. This is what he told me. I have two dogs a 4-month-old and a 1.5 yr old. my puppy should not be eating this as he needs then this is offering for his age. Although he said he was very pleased with what he read my dogs still needed veggies which we could add ourselves. for my older pup we added in fresh pet for some chicken, and veggies no fillers. I have to admit my dog is going crazy over this. Adding warm water def made the dif. *helps when u read the back on how to feed* Over all happy with the product I do agree with others their price is way to high and makes it so I won't be able to afford this much longer :(

  • Excellent dog food, but WAY WAY too expensive

    By on

My English Cocker Spaniel goes crazy for this food. He could do a dog food commercial because his zeal in eating it is so over-the-top. Even giving him a total of one-and-a-half cups a day - which is not a lot of food — the teeny 14 ounce bag is gone in the blink of an eye. At nearly $30 a bag, it is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. I am very sorry and disappointed to say that I will not be able to afford to keep giving me my dog food that he loves. I fed my dog Orijen for many years — until it was no longer carried at Chewy — and paid about $85 for a 25-pound bag. 25 lbs of Trudog would be about, what? $750!!!?? Impossible! The crazy price is the only reason I didn’t give this five stars. I My English Cocker Spaniel goes crazy for this food. • Great food for your dog!

    By on

I found out about tru dog from a neighbor. I have a 8 pound Havanese. I give her 2 table spoons and cover it with warm water along with her other food. She has ate every meal sense. She even loves the juice that it makes. I used to give her a little chicken with her food. I am positive that she loves this more. I have not had a chance to give her the turkey. Just the beef so far.But without a doubt, she loves this food.

  • Great dog food but mine won’t eat it!

    By on

I think this about the best dog food on the market and the very first day I put it in their dish, they were all three crazy about it and then the second day they would not touch it so now I have another bag I am going to ha e to give away. They love BilJack even though it is not rated as good. Also they like Crave which has a good rating and like Purina I Instints so those are the three I buy for them. I have two Yorkie S and a Havanese.

  • great food

Its a great food and my two labs love it. I even give as a treat to my two cats. The only issue is that I can only give a small amount to them as a topping on their regular food. Its way to expensive to try and feed 4 cups a day to them.

  • Too expensive for way too small of a bag..

    By on

So if I wanted to feed this to my Siberian Husky she would go through a bag of the 14oz every 3 days. So that would cost me $240 a month in dog food. $2,880 a year in dog food for one dog. Was really excited about this food until I saw it's only practical for 5lb dogs. Extremely disappointed.

  • UNREALISTIC FOR THOSE WITH AVERAGE INCOMES

    By on

Sad that this product is only realistic for those with VERY small dogs or those with larger incomes. Anyone with a LARGE dog and an average income would need a second job to afford to feed this food to their pet. I guess Truman's owner didn't take that into account. Would be nice to see someone create a product that's affordable for most pet owners so more pets can reap the health benefits. Too bad .
