Cut into pieces for puzzle balls
My husky adores these when I stuff 1/4 size pieces into a puzzle ball for him. As a chew on their own, these are not ideal because, as other reviews have said, they are not at all long lasting. BUT when stuffed inside a JW toys "crackle ball" (crackle insides long since removed) it takes my dog ages to finish what amounts to half a chew. For this reason, these are my new favorite. (Photo included for size reference and ball style).
NOT long-lasting
Always looking for a long-lasting chew for my 40 lb hound mix. She gobbled this down in a minute. The Busy Bone chewnola 3 layered long lasting chew was better, lasting maybe 5-10 minutes.
They love them
Big and thick, treats. Not very long lasting with my too, but their tummys weren't too happy after earing the whole thing. I would suggest, maybe, half for a larger dog? They are not easy to cut or break, just an FYI.
Should have listened to other reviewers
I figured that since my two ACDs are still pups, these chews would last longer than what other reviewers have stated. I was thoroughly disappointed. Every other similarly priced chew I've gotten them has lasted at least thirty minutes - these didn't even last 10. And they crumble all over the place, leaving a giant mess. Won't be purchasing again. Two stars because they smell strongly and pups were super excited as soon as I opened the bag.
Not Really Long Lasting, But Pup Loves These!
My dog loves these treats and I like to have them on hand because they do keep her occupied for a couple minutes. To be clear: my dog definitely takes less than 5 minutes to eat each chew. These are not really "long lasting" like the package says or like a Yak Cheese, so just understand the level of "hard" chew that you're buying.
Hiding these for later!
My pup loves to hide this for later. We usually give him one when we run errands, gives him something to do while we're gone. however, we've noticed that when we get him, he immediately runs to his hiding place to retrieve it and eat it in our presence like he was savoring it to let us know how much he appreciates it! So cute!
my dog is not normal about these
our boy goes crazy for these things. he will do anything for a hearty bone. he would betray his closest loved ones for a hearty bone. he reverts back to a primal wolf dog salivating for a mammoth femur at the cave of prehistoric man. he gets real wacky. drool everywhere. runs away to his little dog corner where he can be a hearty bone eating goblin. nothing else in the world has this effect on our mild-mannered dog. just these. in all seriousness: agree with lots of other reviewers that these are not long lasting, especially for our GSD, but they make for an indulgent, chewy treat for special occasions.
A favorite of my dogs
I give my dogs a dental treat every day. My standard poodle turns his nose up at some of the varieties I buy but he loves these. They do not last a long time but they still are a good treat to keep in my dog treat cabinet.
Define "long-lasting"
I bought these because of the claim to be "long-lasting" thinking my two dogs would be able to keep engaged for awhile. Takes about 2 minutes for Poppy to eat one. Not what I would call "long-lasting" at all.
NOT long lasting
I was really surprised by how long these lasted, or should I say, didn't last. They claim long lasting, but all three dogs consumed them in minutes. I wasn't too surprised when the lab was done, but seriously the Corgi and the Havanese (he only weighs 12 lbs) were done in minutes too. It didn't last any longer than a pedigree dental chew for the Havanese, and they are way smaller. Very disappointed. At this price, for the amount of time they last, I wouldn't buy them again. Just as a side note, the bag arrived torn open, but they may have been the shippers fault.
