    Not so Good

By Caitsma on Apr 2, 2021

I was hesitant to buy this food for Jasper as it was new for us and the smallest size you could get was a billion pound bag. Well to my shock and awe he hates it. Will not eat it. Unfortunately now stuck with this huge bag and we are back to old faithful Hills Science Diet perfect weight. I just thought this food sounded healthier but to no avail. Jasper wants no part. He likes what he likes.

    Dog approved

By Hanx on Mar 28, 2021

Both of our dogs like this very much despite it being fat dog dog food. That being said both of our Hanks are Beagle mixes and as such do not seem to be particularly picky with their diets. They just like food-any kind. Their coats are nice and shiny and they do not seem to be suffering any GI issues with this food. Chewy customer service is fantastic-they replaced a ripped bag pronto.

Seems to be okay so far

By Emily on Mar 28, 2021

We have a dog who has the absolute worse gas known to man. You could literally clear a building with this dogs rear end! Hoping the grain free food would help we bought the True Acres grain free chicken. Well, she seems to like it but the gas is still an issue. In fact, we have started giving her gas X to control her nuclear poots.

    Good Value

By Nero on Mar 29, 2021

I wanted to try something different fir my dog with pancreatitis. His regular low-fat food nearly doubled in price over the last year and I also think it's good to have some variety in the diet. So far so good. Gradually switched him over and no tummy troubles. Not the best smelling food to me, but he eats it, no problem.

Dog didn't like it, at first

    By tongy66086 on Mar 10, 2021

For an old dog, our dog is pretty choosy, with what he eats. Gave him a bowl of this, and he sniffed it, and turned away. After a couple of days, he came back and ate it. The next bowl, I poured hot water over it, and he doesn't even wait for the water to cool down much, before he devours it.

    Guilt Free Feeding

    By Nick on Jan 22, 2021 top1000Contributor

I have 4 dogs and one of them has really let himself go. He has a tendency to finish his food then move on to one of his brother's bowls. It also doesn't help that I am pretty loose with the treats. I switched to this Weight Management recipe but was concerned he wouldn't like it. Boy was I wrong. He loves it. His brothers now try to sneak food from his bowl Good thing he's pretty good at cleaning his plate. This one is a winner. #chewyteamrated

Don’t make them weight for it...

    By Dommamomma on Jan 20, 2021 top500Contributor

The pups have put on some weight over the holidays, but luckily this True Acre kibble is just what they need and apparently want. They dig in just like it’s their regular kibble. They’ve been getting a lot of treats lately so going to cut back on that and with feeding this they’re already looking like normal #chewyteamrated

    Big Appetite, Big Hit

By Cleosdad on Jan 21, 2021

We've tried some other True Acre kibble before and the dogs loved it. They have put on some extra pounds so we tried this and they loved it just like the other true acre kibble they ate. They've been having a big appetite lately and this fill them up but don't have to worry about the extra pounds as much #chewyteamrated

    Great option

By bellababyboom on Jan 20, 2021

My Rhodesian Ridgeback is a little overweight as she gets older and exercises less. I’m happy to have this formula from True Acres as I love this brand for the nutrition and price, and she loves the flavor. Thanks for making it easy to address her weight issue! #ChewyTeamRated

My dog loves this food. Time will tell if it helps with her weight. Only wish it was a softer food as my dog is 12 years old and has trouble eating hard food.
