Would this be appropriate post surgical removal of a rear limb?
Answer by ChewyJun 02, 2020
Tulane's Closet Cover Me by Tui Adjustable Fit Long Sleeve Recovery Cat Pullover would work well for this circumstance. It is recommended tacking/sewing the cuff closed on the sleeve of the limb that was removed. This is so it isn’t exposed.

The size directions say that "most important" are length and weight. But there are no weights listed on the chart! Where are the weight guidelines?
Answer by ChewyDec 29, 2021
The Small pullover is for pet's weighing up to 8 pounds, the Medium pullover is for pet's weighing up to 12 pounds, the Large pullover is for pet's weighing up to 16 pounds, and the X-Large pullover is for pet's weighing up to 22 pounds.

How is length measured? Middle of neck to base of tail?
Answer by ChewyAug 22, 2021
To select the best size we recommend that you measure your pet's length, chest girth (circumference) and neck girth (circumference) to compare with the size chart. To measure the length you'll measure starting at the base of the neck and end at the base of the tail. To measure the chest girth you'll measure at the broadest part of the chest behind the front legs and to measure for the neck girth you'll measure at the broadest part of the neck. If your pet falls somewhere between two sizes, we advise ordering the larger of the two. Please refer to the size chart to best match your pet's measurement. The sizing chart may be located by clicking the “Size” tab, on the product page.

Are all 4 "legs" long-sleeve, and if not could the suit be worn backwards so that the rear limbs are covered?
Answer by ChewyMay 20, 2022
All for legs are the same length.

Not sure what we would have done without it

I hesitated purchasing this item given some of the reviews about sizing and poor quality, but when we could not find any other options with long sleeves, I decided it was worth a try. Our cat had surgery on his back knee and we had to keep him away from his stitches, but the hood was a non starter. I ordered the large, per the sizing chart, and the xlarge just in case. Both fit, but because the neck hole does not have any adjustable snaps, we frequently found him with the neck hole around his stomach when he was wearing the xlarge. I would recommend that adjustable snaps be added to the neck hole. The large stayed on him, so we stuck with that size. All in all, it was exactly what we needed and surprisingly he did not thrash around trying to escape from it. All I can say is thank you. Thank you for making it with long sleeves as it dramatically improved his surgical recovery and kept his stitches safe.

Product is poorly made

Received the product the first week of January and within a week there were stains on the front legs that won't come out despite using three different cleaning products including straight bleach. Now it's the second week of February and I came home today to find that my cat licked a dime size hole in it. For $28 I expected better quality material. Would not recommend or buy again. I'll be looking into purchasing from another company the next time I need something like this for any of my cats.

With a little modification my fat cat loves it more then the cone

My cat Duncan had the cone which was making him miserable. This was the only suit big enough for him because he's 19 lbs. I end up cutting the legs off the suit and turning it into a kitty Johnny and he loves it!. Its so comfortable on him he hasn't even tried to take it off.

shrinks badly

This is the 2nd one I’ve purchased for my cat with horrible allergies. I have to wash before she wears and they have shrunk to the point I cannot use it. It’s really hard to purchase an XL in hopes that it works.

Lifesaver!

I'd been looking for something to replace the "cone of shame" for my cat. She was losing fur on her legs and fur that'd been shaved on her belly wasnt growing back normally...we also just got a new kitten a few months ago that's like her shadow; so is she sick, itchy & pulling her fur out or annoyed, not adjusting well to the kitten, and pulling her fur out? Well b/c of her litter box and food dish, the cone wasn't an option. She's 11.32 lbs. The medium was a little snug and I was going to return it then ordered the Large which had much more room in the upper body; I was able to make both work thanks to all those snaps and luckily since I used to be a vet tech, my pets are used to being handled so clothes are like, ok whatever. Turns out she was pulling her fur out but the suit stopped it...and she's accepted the kitten. If your cat/pet tolerates wearing clothes, this is MUCH better than a cone. If they are having trouble moving around, cut the front sleeves off since more than likely it's not the front legs that need to be covered, it gives them their mobility back and makes most cats/dogs much more tolerable of clothing!

We like it

I was worried about how it would fit and work but so far we like it. Pickles is a 18lb cat and large works good. It covers all hes hot spots.

Size is too small

I got this to let my 11 year old cat have time out of the cone while i try to find something med wise that will help relieve her of the constant itching from her allergies. I have a sleeveless post surgical suit that is an xs that ive tried modifying to have sleeves but need a long sleeve suit. I was debating on getting the medium but since that other one is an xs i decided to try the small. It looks like the size of a onesie for a newborn premie baby and is way too small for my cat. Im gonna be returning this suit and getting the medium to see how that fits.

the sizes are...not great

My cat recently developed an issue with overgrooming due to her arthritis and my vet recommended finding a post-surgical onesie to use when I can't be watching her to prevent her constant fur-pulling. I checked the measurements on the site and according to those she needed a large, which supposedly fits a 12-15 lb cat. This thing arrives and you could easily fit a 30 lb dog in there. It's huge. Two of my 12 lb cat could get in that thing with room to spare. Chewy's customer service was very helpful and provided a refund and instructions to reorder it in a medium. I did so, and the medium size arrived today...and of course it's too small. I can get her front end in just fine but it's too short to get her back legs in. The medium supposedly fits up to a 12 lb cat but that's clearly not the case. I'm baffled by how the two sizes can be so hugely different with no reasonable middle ground. If your cat is anywhere between 10-25 lbs I just don't think this product can be used at all. Maybe if you have a smaller cat you'll have more luck but I'll be seeking another refund and giving up on this one.

The most coverage I've found

This long sleeve recovery "jammy" is the best I have found when it comes to keeping my cat away from her open wounds. Unfortunately, because of the location of the worst wounds (at the top of her inner thighs), she can still get to some parts of them and the "jammy" closures (snaps) rub a bit along them. As a result I have to have her in "the cone of shame" (an e-collar) as well to keep her from licking them open even more and causing severe bleeding. Still I am able to give her a bit of a break from the collar for a while each day as long is I keep her under surveillance. It is soft and fairly comfortable for her. She does sometimes pull a front or back leg out of it, but can still move around and not expose all of her wounds. These wounds have been an ongoing problem and it's nice not having to keep her in an e-collar 24/7.

Cat shirt-onesie - Trim to fit!

Glad it is nice and thin. I cut the sleeves, and cut the back off, which we didn’t need, and she seems to feel proud to get to wear clothes like us! She has gotten it off, but she doesn’t hate it. Sometimes her foot comes out, but by cutting the sleeves shorter it really helped that to stop. I also cut a slit in the collar. Now she’s more comfortable. Much better than a cone for sure and received it in a day!!
