Description

Insulin Syringes/Needles U-100 31 Gauge x 5/16-in are used for the injection of U-100 (100 units per ml) insulin in pets with diabetes. However, it’s important to note that more than one concentration of insulin exists, so be sure that the syringe used matches the type of insulin prescribed for your pet.

Proudly sourced directly from the manufacturer or their approved distributor. Guaranteed genuine and backed by the manufacturer.

Uses

Syringes are primarily used to administer insulin to dogs and cats.

Precautions

Used sharps should be immediately placed in a sharps disposal container. FDA-cleared sharps containers are generally available through pharmacies, medical supply companies, health care providers and online. These containers are made of puncture-resistant plastic with leak-resistant sides and bottom. They also have a tight fitting, puncture-resistant lid. If an FDA-cleared container is not available a heavy-duty plastic household container, such as a laundry detergent container can be used as an alternative.

    Better than the Big Brands

By VWprowler on Oct 7, 2021

I prefer these needles over the big pharma brands like BD. They have 1/2 unit marks, which is all I need for a dose for my dog. The needle is short (5/16") which is better for her than the long (1/2"). The syringe is smooth and I have no issues with getting air bubbles out of them. The BD brand are more expensive, but an inferior product, with impossibility to remove air bubbles, syringe doesn't move smoothly, and no 1/2 unit marks. I know 1/2 unit does is a bit strange, but my girl is extremely sensitive to insulin and just a little keeps her in range. UlriCare definitely puts quality in their needles and I work in the healthcare manufacturing world.

    I’m so Grateful

By Claire on Oct 25, 2021

I checked around for a good price for insulin syringes for my diabetic dog. I was surprised that the prices varied so much from vendor to vendor. Chewy had a great price, and they shipped immediately. Thanks!

    Diabetic dog

By Jackie on Jul 5, 2021

Needed a comparable, yet less expensive option. These were 1/2 the cost and received a gift card and free delivery if $49 purchased, so I thought why not try!!!

    Great syringes

By Donna on Apr 17, 2021

It took me a while to find the perfect syringe for my cat. They work perfectly especially if you need to give half units of insulin. Unfortunately I didn’t get to use many of them because my cat passed shortly after I received them. The SPCA was very happy to get them.

    Did not work for me

By SnickyMom on Jan 30, 2021

Granted, I am a relative neophyte at giving insulin to my cat, but had finally gotten to almost full accuracy (no misses for a long time) with his shots, until I tried this brand of syringes: I kept thinking, after 3 bad misses, that it was my ineptitude at shot-giving resurfacing. Then I realized it was the syringe itself. Once I got a small supply of good syringes from my vet, and then ordered more good ones elsewhere, I have not missed with the shot in over 3 weeks. All have completely and accurately gone in. So I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE SYRINGES. The first thing I hated about them was that the pusher in the syringe was not controllable---it kept pushing the insulin up even when I was not touching it. Then the worst thing, was that the needle simply seemed to not go in the tent of skin on my cat, causing repeated misses in a row when he needed his shot. so he had to go a while with no shot, since vet advises not to give second shot if first one fails, since some insulin could have gone in even if a lot seems to have landed ineffectually on his fur. Sorry: this is the first Chewy product I've ordered I had such bad luck with. … more

    Good product

By Mary on Feb 16, 2021

This is my first time ordering needles from Chewy. I like the bigger numbers, that is a big help. My one wish would be better price. I have been ordering from another place, different brand of needles, but getting 300 for about $40. with no shipping. They are currently out of stock, which is why I ordered from Chewy. These are fine quality syringes.
