Description

Insulin Syringes/Needles U-100 31 Gauge x 5/16-in are used for the injection of U-100 (100 units per ml) insulin in pets with diabetes. However, it’s important to note that more than one concentration of insulin exists, so be sure that the syringe used matches the type of insulin prescribed for your pet.

Uses

Syringes are primarily used to administer insulin to dogs and cats.

Precautions

Used sharps should be immediately placed in a sharps disposal container. FDA-cleared sharps containers are generally available through pharmacies, medical supply companies, health care providers and online. These containers are made of puncture-resistant plastic with leak-resistant sides and bottom. They also have a tight fitting, puncture-resistant lid. If an FDA-cleared container is not available a heavy-duty plastic household container, such as a laundry detergent container can be used as an alternative.

    Easier to handle

    By on

For use on my cat, I find the smaller syringe and needle length much easier to handle. I would love a smaller gauge.

Product is great, delivery not so much

    By on

I guess Chewy has me spoiled, but Ive been used to getting delivery in a couple of days. This time I waited till I was almost out of insulin syringes and delivery took almost 10 days. Seems to me that Chewy should offer expedited shipping (for a fee of course) for emergency medical needs.

1/2 unit markings are very helpful!

    By on

We have a cat with diabetes who has been difficult to stabilize, thus we're often tweaking his insulin dose, and sometimes this includes 1/2 unit increments. Having this marking on the syringe is very useful, given how small the units are. This eliminates guesswork (and a lot of squinting), and I feel more confident that he is getting the correct dosage.

    Works well!

    By on

Works well at a good price. But I didn’t realize it’s 60 syringes and not 100. Thought it’s really cheap for 100 but was 60 only. Very odd quantity box.
