Description

Insulin Syringes/Needles U-100 29 Gauge x 0.5-in are prescribed by your vet for the injection of U-100 (100 units per ml) insulin to treat your pet's diabetes. However, it’s important to note that more than one concentration of insulin exists, so be sure that the syringe used matches the type of insulin prescribed for your pet. These insulin syringes also come with a sharps container for proper disposal of syringes.

Uses

Syringes are primarily used to administer insulin to dogs and cats.

Precautions

Used sharps should be immediately placed in a sharps disposal container. FDA-cleared sharps containers are generally available through pharmacies, medical supply companies, health care providers and online. These containers are made of puncture-resistant plastic with leak-resistant sides and bottom. They also have a tight fitting, puncture-resistant lid. If an FDA-cleared container is not available a heavy-duty plastic household container, such as a laundry detergent container can be used as an alternative.

How does this product work?

U-100 syringes are used to administer insulin to diabetic dogs and cats. This syringe size is compatible with Humulin N insulin. You should not administer insulin injections until you have been trained by a veterinary professional to give them correctly. It is important that you are using the correct insulin syringe for the specific type of insulin your pet requires. An incorrect syringe size can result in incorrect dosing. U-100 syringes require a veterinary prescription. All insulin syringes should be properly discarded in a sharps container and should not be thrown away in the trash.

    Meets our needs

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I've had to use these insulin syringes a couple years ago for my cat but purchased from the vet's office at a much higher price. This was before Chewy acquired a pharmacy. Now, I am having to give insulin shots to my dog. I am glad to purchase these from Chewy. You can buy similar syringes at the mart slightly cheaper but to me, those are a bit lighter and the needle is much shorter/thinner. I can control these better.

First time I ordered needles for my chihuahua online. The local pharmacy we used were constantly out & would not tell me if other stores had them in stock. So i decided to check my old reliable Chewy! Now we will never run out!

    Insulin Syringes

These syringes are great and easy to use. However, the plunger cap is unnecessary and could be eliminated.

    These are great!

    By on

I have a long-haired diabetic kitty who was diagnosed in 2009. The store where I would pick them up is no longer carrying 1/2 inch needles and the short needles are just difficult with his long hair. So, I decided to give these a try. Granted, I'm just getting started on using them, but so far they have been great. And I definitely like the attached sharps container. I will be purchasing these from now on! Thanks, Chewy!

The 1/2 inch needle makes all the difference!

    By on

My diabetic dog has a very thick double coat, and the 8 mm needle on U100 syringes available from my local pharmacy is just too short for me to be comfortable that the insulin went where it was supposed to every time. So glad to find these U100, 29 gauge, 1/2 inch needle 0.3cc syringes (with the sharps container) available from Chewy! I put them on auto delivery so I always will have a ready supply.
