Syringes are primarily used to administer insulin to dogs and cats.
Used sharps should be immediately placed in a sharps disposal container. FDA-cleared sharps containers are generally available through pharmacies, medical supply companies, health care providers and online. These containers are made of puncture-resistant plastic with leak-resistant sides and bottom. They also have a tight fitting, puncture-resistant lid. If an FDA-cleared container is not available a heavy-duty plastic household container, such as a laundry detergent container can be used as an alternative.
Use according to your veterinarian's instructions.
Syringes should be kept out of the reach of children and pets.
These syringes are prescribed by your veterinarian in order to deliver insulin to your pet. Insulin syringes list volume as units. U-40 syringes are used to administer ProZinc insulin for cats. Make sure you are using the correct syringe for the insulin your pet needs. Incorrect syringe sizes will result in incorrect insulin dosing. Only your veterinarian can write a prescription for U-40 syringes.
The U-40 Syringe is a high quality, sterile, insulin syringe that is used to administer insulin to diabetic pets, primarily cats. It is primarily used to administer ProZinc insulin. Make sure your veterinarian teaches you how to give insulin injections properly prior to use. Different syringes are necessary for different types of insulin so make sure you are ordering the correct insulin syringe for your pet. U-40 syringes are available with a prescription from your veterinarian. Make sure you dispose of insulin syringes properly in a sharps container. Do not throw away in the regular trash.
*Be Aware* These syringes are susceptible to air bubbles. Thankfully I noticed it right away but no matter how slow I pull back, bubbles form consistently near the rubber stopper, sides and top. I have to flick the syringe to get the bubbles out before I administer the shot. My spouse has the same issues, so it's not user error. After this box, I will be going back to the other manufacturer. I wanted these to work because of the size and 1/2 unit markings. :(
So I got these because sometimes the Covidien needles appear to be too thick. well, maybe they are that way for a reason. these were flimsy and it was also impossible to get the air bubbles to the top.
These are the same quality as the syringes we got from our vet, and they're less expensive from Chewy.
This syringe is better than we previously purchased. The 1/2 unit markings help give right amount and needle is sharp. It hurts less; our cat does not flinch in pain
and plunger moves smoothly not sure why it requires the hefty plastic cap though
I give my cat 4 IU in the am and 3 in the evening so smaller syringe is easier to read.
Package of 100 Syringes. Small needle so when used (while the cat is eating) he doesn't stop eating and he acts like nothing just happened.
My cat requires insulin injections 2x per day. UltiCare syringes are nicely boxed - 10 packs of 10 each. Easy to read and use.
Arrived in a timely manner. Exactly what l needed.
The needles go in easily and don’t seem to bother my cat at all. The gauge on the side of the syringe is easy to read. I really like the convenience of being able to use the sharps container for storing the new syringes as well as disposing the used ones. I am very happy with this product.
