He injured the discs in his back a year ago . He was tearing through the house and lost his footing on our hardwood floors. We took him to a specialist who said he was too old for surgery. At the onset of his injury we blanketed our hardwood floors with non skid runners and rugs. It helped a bit, but over time Charlie’s back legs would slide out to the side and he could not stand on his own. We made a sling out of a cloth bag by cutting off the sides and tapering the cloth to his body. We were able to help him stand holding on to the handles and supporting his body weight. I went online to see if there was any orthopedic aid to address his issues. This is where I discovered these boots. We ordered them through Chewy and they arrived immediately. We put all four of them on Charlie, and to our amazement he could walk and kept his footing with no sideways slippage. We removed the ones on his front paws and still no slipping out sideways. Charlie can now eat and drink on his own and stand normally wearing only the two boots on his back feet. He wears them while he is up and about the house. I take them off when he is resting or sleeping. He does not wear them outdoors because he has better traction on concrete and grass and can maintain an upright posture. I recommend these to anyone who has a fur baby that has trouble walking. They are amazing. Charlie does not mind wearing them. He has never tried to chew them or to get them off of his feet. The interior of the boot it cushioned and soft around the ankle. … more

I measured my dog's paws while standing and got the size suggested in the description for his measurement of 2 1/2" (size M says 2 3/4"); however, the opening measures 2" so was unable to squeeze the paw in. Then I noticed on the item box it came in, under "how to size", it says to add 1/4" to your measurement I measured my dog's paws while standing and got the size suggested in the description for his measurement of 2 1/2" (size M says 2 3/4"); however, the opening measures 2" so was unable to squeeze the paw in. Even though adding 1/4" to these should have worked, but not with a 2" opening at the top....FYI. The boot seems high quality, but we will have to wait until the L is available to know for sure since the opening at the top will be wider I assume. (I have a 85 lb. lab-pit mix with paws 2 1/2" across at widest part) … more

These are awesome!
By Sisco on Mar 26, 2021
We blindly bought these for our indoor Rhodesian Ridgeback to keep from wiping his feet when coming in from the rain. We’ve been using them for over two years and they have held up nicely. I highly recommend these and will definitely buy again. Hopefully they are still made In the same location as ours were.

Don’t waste money on it

They didn’t stay on at all no matter how tight unfortunately they are just too low if they were made higher I’m sure it would have stayed on

Served their purpose
By CatnDogMom on Mar 19, 2021
I got these for my 14 year old lab mix who was having trouble staying on his feet on slick floors. They allowed him to more easily stay up, but it was still difficult to get up. I purchased the XL - and he was about 80 lbs. They did tend to slip around on his feet when he wasn't standing though. Overall - not a bad purchase and a good price.

Not so durable
By Mari on Mar 18, 2021
Not so durable... did not last a full Chicago winter. Had to replace in the Spring because of ripping and lost stickyness of the Velcro straps.

Sturdy and easy to put on
By BarbieJ on Mar 14, 2021
Our 13 year old dog - Bella - has neurological issues and as a result is now dragging her back paws on walks. Her nails were almost to the membrane. Luckily, these work amazingly well at protecting her nails and paws. PLUS Chewy has the best customer service anywhere...hands down...so will always shop Chewy for all of our pet's needs!
