Description

The Ultra Paws Wound Dog Boot is a breathable boot with elastic sides to cover a bandage or cast if needed. It protects the wound area while healing and restricts licking or chewing at wounds. Price is for a single boot packaged individually. Please note the boot is designed to be breathable, not waterproof. If the dog goes outdoors in wet conditions, consider taping a plastic bag over the boot to prevent moisture from penetrating the boot.

Key Benefits
  • Wound boot is breathable to allow air to freely flow in and around the wound area
  • Improves healing and helps prevent infection by reducing moisture and keeping the wound area dryer
  • The sole is made from a non-skid PVC material that provides traction indoors
  • Spandex sides allow for a range of healing stages by expanding to cover a bandage or cast when needed
  • Two Velcro straps fasten boot in place

For best results, place the paw on paper and mark the width on the paper. Compare this to the boot sizes. The elastic side seams of the Wound Boot will stretch to accommodate bandages, but take that into consideration when determining the size.

  • This is Perfect

After trying a few different styles of “boot” for my Lab, who had to have part of a toe amputated, I decided to give this a try. Although this is made to go over a bandage, I still decided to get the medium as it would come up a bit higher on his “ankle” and not slide off or spin as much as the other brands I tried. I also tried this because it doesn’t have bulky seams around the inside of the foot that can rub and irritate an already injured paw. This is made extremely well, has two velcro straps and stays on! It did turn around a couple of times when he decided to try to dig in and pull while outside, but that is the nature of these things and dog feet. I can’t recommend this enough!

  • Great for healing

This has done a great job in keeping my golden away from her paw. I am using in conjunction with the Suitical Recovery Sleeve and I am finally able to keep my dog from licking her paw!

  • Ultlra Paws Wound Dog Boot

I've tried several items on my dog's foot which has an open wound I'm trying to heal. I wrap his wound with gauze and wrappings ( some stretch and some water proof tape) and then put this boot on. The velcro straps did not hold very long when he went outside to do his business and he then started wiping his feet. I solved this problem by putting a piece of 1" scotch masking tape (painting dept.) around the top of the boot. His boot has stayed on. When I want to change his wound wrapping again, I take the masking tape off, take the boot off, wrap his wound again, put on the boot again, and then wrap another piece of masking tape around the top of the boot tightly enough to keep the boot I've tried several items on my dog's foot which has an open wound I'm trying to heal. I haven't had to deal with rain water yet. If the boot is not water proof, I will wrap a piece of a thick black garbage bag around the boot with the masking tape to keep it dry when my dog needs to go outside. Wrapping my dog's foot and using this boot is the only way I have been able to keep my dog from licking and chewing on his wound until the wound scabs over and heals completely.. … more

  • Wound Dog Boot

I used this in conjunction with the kong cloud collar for a rear paw injury. My large breed dog did not do well with the cone of shame so I found these options worked well together. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the boot kept twisting so he was walking on the top side of the boot which scuffed it up pretty good. All in all it's a good product and I would definitely recommend! Thanks Chewy for making my pups life a little less stressful.

  • Awesome!!!

I have a 1 yr old heeler who is disabled in her back end. Neither foot have feeling, so, she had been chewing off her toes and paw. Can't remove that foot because she uses it for her sidewinder hop. We wrapped it in vet wrap, tape, and baby socks. She'd have the end chewed off in a matter of seconds. I ordered 1 boot but she chewed through it just as fast. I ordered another one but made some additional changes. Now, she's had this boot on for over a month! Her foot is healing, so I'm ordering another one for her other one!

  • Measurement guide inaccurate

    By on

I used the measurement guide to pick the size and I was even a little generous by going up a size just to leave room. This was still a little snug. Also my pet had this off and torn apart in 30 mins.

My dog is a petite mix of about 40 lbs. According to the size guide, I got an xs. She has tiny paws. The boot ripped down the side while undoing the Velcro. It also measures approx 1" to 1 1/4" at the base so it's really too small for my dog. I managed to get it on her though not a high up as it should go because it was too small, and when she left the room and came back, it was off her foot already. At only 4" high it really didn't have the coverage needed and the cushion inside for the bottom of her foot wasn't placed properly and takes up valuable space inside. The water resistant cover I figured would at least come to good use and I have been covering my dogs bandages with a ziploc bag My dog is a petite mix of about 40 lbs. But again this little bag fell off almost instantly. Should've just used my $20 to buy more bandages rather than trying this boot :( … more

  • Wound boot for the not too wounded!

    By on

This was not comfortable for my dog, who had torn a toenail off. It might work in some instances, but not for this. It did not flex easily at the dogs ankle, and was cumbersome and awkward.

  • Dog chewed it up

Didn't last one day. Put on her paw and left for an hour. Got home and it was off and a hole chewed in it. Concept is good...just not for our dog
