Description

Get the most out of your cat litter with Ultra Micro Crystals Cat Litter. Made with sand-like silica gel crystals, which are a naturally occurring mineral made of water, sand, and oxygen, it offers superior moisture and odor-trapping qualities. In fact, it absorbs urine instantly and leaves litter dry to the touch—which in turn provides maximum odor control. And since the moisture then evaporates, the crystals can be raked and used over and over again for up to a month, making this an earth-friendly options as well. Totally non-toxic and safe for cats, it’s soft on the paws and cuts down on tracking.

Key Benefits
  • Silica gel cat litter offers maximum odor control and leaves litter dry to the touch.
  • Absorptive surface with thousands of mini-channels provide superior liquid absorption.
  • Dries solid waste and absorbs urine instantly for maximum odor control.
  • Water evaporates so crystals can be reused up to a month, offering 70% less landfill waste than clay.
  • One bag is enough for one cat for one month.
Precautions

Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

It may even be best to incorporate some clumps of waste or used litter from the currently used box during the first couple days. A 50% new on bottom / 50% old on top mix best for the first month gradually stirring the litters to mix and let the cat get used to the texture and sounds of the new litter. By the time you get to the start of month 2 the silica gel litter should be the only litter in the box with complete cat acceptance. You may also find it helpful to place the cat in the box after changing to pearls and comfort them into trying the texture and sound. Pearls may have more sound as they shift as the cat walks.

    Disappointed

    By on

I bought this for some kittens I was litter box training. Pouring it into the litter box caused a lot of dust. (I had to stop pouring and walk away.) When the kittens pottied and tried to cover their deposit, it was so dusty, each one would sneeze and give up. Didn’t do a good job with smell either.

    Works well

Our elderly cat went through a psychotic moment where she randomly started peeing anywhere but her cat box. We used flushable pine for years with one UTI (3 years ago) but otherwise no issues. This time urinalysis was negative and we weren't sure what to do. Tried a special anti ammonia floor cleaner, new box, pheromones... this stuff magically seemed to fix it. Been spot free for a year since and going. We do have more dopple hangers around than before, but I figure she's just getting lazy on that end? It tracks, but so does EVERYTHING, believe me we tried. Best part is we flush the poop (even with old plumbing). If you dont scoop same half day, you'll smell it otherwise clear air. TOO DUSTY!

    By on

I was hoping the kitties and I would like this litter. It's way too dusty and has a feeling of finely ground glass. We are going back to our tried and true litter. Arm & Hammer naturals litter.

    Better than brand names

    By on

I was using Equisicat from PetSmart. But PetSmart never had the litter in stock when I needed it. I have been searching for something the same. Chewy staff recommend this product. First time trying it today. It's lighter, less dusty, and Salem took to it quicker than the other one. It's around the same price but I feel is better for my money. Will be buying again

Odor Control Great BUT *Horrible* Dust/Tracking

    By on

We got this litter so that we could see the color of our cat's pee. He had a urinary blockage (thankfully okay now) and we needed to monitor the blood in his urine. He uses it fine, but it is literally tracked through our entire apartment. Also, pouring out the bag and day to day sifting causes this huge plume of dust. I actually put an air purifier in the litter box room purely because of this litter, and the pre-filter is covered in dust overnight. I cough when scooping the box. I'm trying out a different brand to see if the dust is better (Dr. Elsey's respiratory relief). All in all-it *is* good for odor control and easy, lightweight scooping (you can kind of scoop light pee clumps out We got this litter so that we could see the color of our cat's pee. Almost as good as Pretty Litter

    By on

I bought this litter to mix with Pretty Litter to stretch the Pretty Litter further because it's more expensive. The consistency is almost the same as Pretty Litter. Of course it doesn't change colors but I don't care so much about that. The only complaint I have is that it Ultra Micro Crystals is dusty when you're pouring it into the litter box, whereas Pretty Litter is not.

    Not what it claims

    By on

This does not have superior odor control as advertised. It claims up to a month, but halfway through the month the cat odor is strong. Will not buy again.

    Less Litter Tracking

    By on

So far, I like it, and so does my cat. I keep two boxes - one with traditional litter, and one with Ultra. May cat seems to use the box with traditional litter for #2 and the box with Ultra for #1 (she's weird like that). As long as you stir up the crystals once a day to distribute the urine, odor control has not been an issue. And, there is much less litter trackage throughout the house. My cat is big - a Maine Coon - so I get about 3 weeks use out of a 5lb bag before it needs changing.
