    Middle of the road litter

By MGcats on Sep 22, 2020

We've tried almost a dozen different kinds of non-clumping litter since our 23-year-old developed issues with clumping litter. This one is definitely not the best, but definitely not the worst of them either. Urine odor control is good, on par with any other crystal litter and better than Dr Elsey's We've tried almost a dozen different kinds of non-clumping litter since our 23-year-old developed issues with clumping litter. This one is definitely not the best, but definitely not the worst of them either. Urine odor control is good, on par with any other crystal litter and better than Dr Elsey's. Fecal odor control is terrible, the worst of any of the crystal litters. It doesn't seem to dry it out as fast as other crystal litters, and the whole house would smell within minutes of a litter box visit. The particles are all different sizes ranging from tiny pebbles to larger pebbles. None of them are the fine grained sand like the Dr Elsey's crystal litters. They are rounded, though which I thought might be nicer on the cats' paws then jagged pieces. Unfortunately, it also means they roll all over the place. The cats track it a LOT, and I find it all over the house, far, far away from the litter boxes. At least the jagged pieces of other litters tracked just a few feet from the litter boxes. We'll be dumping this one before it's really used up, just because it's too annoying. We'll go back to ScoopFree blue until we can find one better. … more

    Ultra Rough

This stuff does it’s job, but watch out for the litter box fallout. It’s so rough it’s like stepping on LEGOs or glass!

    Ultra pearls

Well I love it, however one of my two cats hate it so much she has taken to pooping outside the box on the floor. Snickelfritz, the boy, doesn't seem to care but it is harder to scoop as it is hard to get through the scoop hole.

    Cheap product equals cheap quality

    By on

I thought I would try this since it's a little cheaper than the ultra micro crystals, which have not been working as well lately. I am very disappointed with this product. The crystals are so large and obnoxious, which makes for a mess when your cat kicks litter out of the box. They remind me of salt that you put out in the winter. Very obnoxious crystals and I will not be buying again. The price is a little cheaper but in this case was not worth the savings due to poor and cheap quality.

    Really underwhelmed

    By on

I bought this stuff thinking it was going to be the bee's knees, but it ended up stinking after less than two weeks! I've been researching different litter types because my elderly cat is in the early stages of kidney disease. This means she drinks a lot of water and pees a lot, and our old standby (a leading brand of wheat litter) wasn't dealing with the smell very well anymore. I found some article about "best cat litter" on the internet and this was listed #1 for effectiveness and value, and so I expected a lot - and it was great for the first 7-10 days. So easy to just scoop out the poop and stir everything around, which I did 1-2 times/day. I don't think even buying a bag twice a month would be enough to keep up with the odor. My kitty herself smells bad now, just from being in an enclosed box with that litter. I think I'll go back to all-natural clumping litters and just try a different kind, like pine or grass or something. Probably if you have a cat who doesn't pee all the time, this litter would last longer - but still, I can't imagine this stuff controlling odors for a month. … more

    Pretty litter

    By on

I switched to crystal litter because my cat has asthma and couldn't handle the dusty kind. I probably would not order this again because it's 1/2 of what I get for a lesser price, and it didn't last as long.

It's works ok, I don't like that you leave the pee in the box. I don't think it smell horrible but it does have an odder.

    Still smelly

    By on

I have used the crystal type litters before and typically they absorb smell very well. I don't feel like this one does, especially after a bowel movement. The crystals are also super large, which I guess is my own fault for ordering this size, but still not ideal. I probably won't get it again.
