Absolutely love these crates! I bought two for my two collie mixes. They look very elegant and only took about an hour each to assemble by myself. Instructions are easy to follow but I recommend following the other reviewer's advice about assembling the top first instead of the bottom (unless you are a tiny person that can reach inside the crate to screw in the final screws). True to dimensions. The mattress that comes with the crate is okay. Very soft material but too firm in my opinion. We already have better pillows so we just replaced them. I wouldn't recommend these crates if your dog is kennel training or has limited crate training. This is definitely a crate for dogs who are content in their crate. It's not that they're flimsy, but I could see a dog doing some damage easily to it.
Not great for strong dogs
I am very surprised that this hasn’t lasted long. My dog never chewed or tried getting put of other crates but this one he bent the spokes right out of the front door after only two uses. It is well made but for some reason my dog didn’t like being in there. I would recommend if you have a strong dog not to use this. It is beautiful but may not be great for bigger dogs.
Perfect.. but please read!
This is absolutely perfect and what I wanted. My dog kept chewing through the plastic trays of the metal cage. I'm going to save you some trouble and tell you put the top on first! The directions have you putting the bottom on and then the top. Now after reading front to back and then starting I still managed after getting it all done to do it wrong. So I took it apart and put the top on first which was so much easier the 2nd time around. After assembling it correctly even the dog loves it. The mat is flimsy and I know she will chew through that in seconds so I'm leaving that out as well. The cat is loving it though. Could be a little a little more sturdy for the price but overall we are very happy with it
Sturdy and easy to assemble
This crate is well-made and nice looking. Obviously veneer instead of actual wood, but it doesn't look 'cheap.' The assembly directions were easy to follow. The only trouble I had with it was that the latch assembly did not line up exactly right, so I had to drill pilot holes in a slightly different location for one side of it. Now it latches smoothly and easily, my dog is safe and secure when we are not at home, and I have a nice end table. The pad that came with it was nice, but thin, and my dog was already attached to her old thick one so I swapped that in.
Works well as end table
I’m quite satisfied with the look and quality of the end table crate. We have a 5 month old Labrador puppy and our bedroom is too small to put a large crate and keep 2 bedside tables. We replaced one of the bedside tables with the crate so now it has a dual purpose. Keep in mind the size before assembling it. We put it together in the living room and couldn’t get it through the bedroom door so had to take it apart again. Also, there are no labels as to top and bottom when assembling. The bottom is the end with the copper inserts for the screws.
We bought 3 of these at once after a full redecorating effort of my living room. I have 3 Rough Coat Collies. The oldest is an 85lb couch potato, the middle child is a 75lb sweetie with a leaky bladder and the youngest is a year old who once chewed the arm off a couch (hence the necessary redecorating effort) We’ve had the crates for three months and I have ZERO complaints. They are stylish, roomy, sturdy and while they are clearly dog crates, they really do dress up the room. The crate pad that comes with it is great for our couch potato, but it isn’t washable. If your pet has an accident it’s likely the whole pad will need to be tossed. That’s not a problem for us since I use a different type pad for leaky bladder and the chew master has lost all crate pad privileges for the foreseeable future. We looked at many different styles, price points and consumer reviews and ultimately took a chance on these. They arrived packaged well, went together easy enough and have been a good purchase for us!
She loves her crate
Our new rescue had stayed in her carrier crate for the first few days she was with us. By the time Christmas came around, she was cautiously venturing around. That is until family arrived and she hightailed it upstairs. My husband showed her this crate and it was one of the first times he'd seen her wag her tail that enthusiastically. We threw a few blankets and toys in there and she was thrilled. After reading one of the other reviews, I was worried about the bedding at the bottom, but it needed time to fluff out and it seems like enough to support her. She's only 20lbs but she's long and she loves that she can stretch out if she wants. She isn't a chewer (at least on furniture) and we haven't had to latch the doors if we close them because the magnets are pretty strong. I'd say it took us about 30 or so minutes to put the crate together initially, then when we realized we had to move around the one side with the 2nd door to the opposite, we had it partially disassembled and reassembled within 40 minutes. It's really nice to have the option of configuration on what sides the doors are on. It looks really nice, and most of our friends when we show them pictures had no idea that crates could look so pretty.
Good but for the price expected a bit more
This is a nice furniture style crate to add to your living space, received lots of compliments on this crate. The bedding however left a lot to be desired, the foam is thin and the cover even thinner. We have since replaced the bed it came with for a more comfortable pad. The locking mechanisms are nice and easy to use, we have found that on the end door an additional clasp would be good to have as there is a push point weak spot that I am going to try to source for another clasp to put in the corner position. Overall easy to set up, doggo likes the crate for resting and lounging and other than the bedding and the additional lock for the corners overall a good purchase.
Bella's Quiet Time Space
Got this for our 7 month old Belgian Malinois. The crate is very handsome and fits into our living room. Received with no damage. Foolproof relatively quick assembly was nice. The pad that came with it was nice but quickly destroyed so we had to replace with a K9 ballistic one. The only thing that would make it better would be crate pad tie down anchor points.
