Description

Even picky pups will succumb to the influence of a USA Bones & Chews Elk Antler Split Dog Chew. This 100% natural treat is part of a hard antler that has been split to expose the bone marrow in the antler’s center. The softer marrow in the middle is gentler on teeth than whole antlers and provides a tasty bone marrow treat for added nutrients. Antler chews contain natural minerals that support bone and muscle health and the hard outer texture helps clean teeth, massage gums and exercise jaws as your dog chews.

  • Not half an antler

    By on

I love getting elk antlers for my pups, and this is a great antler except it is definitely NOT a half an antler like the other split antlers I have gotten. This one is a small sliver, only just over a centimeter thick at the thicker end, and less than a centimeter at the thinner end. Measuring the other diameter, it is clear the antler has been cut in many pieces, not in half. I got the 6.5-8.5" size which Chewy said was good for medium and large breed dogs - no way! They will crack this in pieces and end up with a foreign body! Additionally, in the questions, Chewy specifically said this was cut in half. I am very disappointed and can't use this for all but my tiniest dog.

  • Size is in consistent

My 5 dogs love this particular dog chew. I have ordered it several times and was always super pleased. The last bones I ordered, length wise were correct, but the bone itself was very thin and small. I was not happy because I got several to give for gifts and my dogs were not happy. I am going to reorder one more time and see if it was just a one time happening. Hopefully this order comes with the size and quality I have always received previously from Chewy.

  • Best chew out there!

    By on

Antlers can be pretty expensive, so I was reluctant to buy them, but it was so worth the money! My dog absolutely loved it! I have a Shiba Inu, so she can be really picky about what toys and chews she will actually play with. But she sat and chewed this antler for several hours without a break. I ended up buying many more! My dog has never liked anything as much.

  • Our dogs love these!

    By on

You absolutely cannot beat the price... going to any other pet stores you'll pay at least $15-20 for a small/decent size one and I can buy two of these larger antlers for the price of one. We used to buy the Kong brand antlers, but they usually had an odor. I haven't noticed that with these and they're cheaper. They have become a monthly need so we just tacked them on to our autoship which saves us even more. Love Chewy!

  • Our young dog needs a chew toy that lasts.

    By on

Far better than stuffed or cloth toys, even better than bones--this lasts quite a while. Perhaps the non-split antler is better for bigger dogs. Ours is a Chi-Terrier mix. I tie a strip of cloth in the middle to give them something to hang on to. I'll definitely be ordering this again when we need to.

  • Great for Chewers

    By on

This was a recommendation from my neighbor. My pup loved this treat and it takes awhile to get through it. It kept her busy for several days and she kept going back to it. Make sure to get a large enough size. My pup is 25 lbs and I got the 4.5-7 inch, but I'm ready to go larger.

  • KOBY LOVES IT

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My 22 lb beagle/shihtzu/maltese mix loves this antler. He enjoys chewing on it off and on throughout the day. I just leave it out for him to chew on whenever he wants, although I do put it up and out of his reach when we go out so he doesn't have it unsupervised. I have purchased the whole antler pieces before but I think he enjoys this one more because he can get to the marrow easier and it seems easier for him to chew on. It has not split or anything but he is widdling away at it and it is becoming smaller. It has provided him hours of chewing fun and I'm also hoping that it aids in keeping his teeth clean and free of tartar as that is the main reason I bought it. • matlock loves them!

    By on

Matlock waits for the delivery box and then sits until I clean off the antler. I always rinse in warm water to remove any debris on outside of bone, but it also softens, ever so slightly the marrow side. A wonderful reward! He also knows if more than one arrives where I keep them so if he thinks he has been extremely good he will go and sit at 'my draw'.

  • Go Big or Go Home

    By on

The largest size of these antlers is 100% the way to go-- These antlers last long and will keep your pup engaged for hours upon hours upon hours. We give one to our 10 month old lab every night while we're eating dinner to keep her occupied, so she has it for about 45 minutes to an hour everyday. One antler lasts her about 3 weeks. COMPLETELY worth it.

  • Way too expensive for the little splinter you get

    By on

The picture looks much bigger than what you get. My dog is very interested and must love the smell of the elk antler but all she can do is gum it when she's bored. After days of trying she still hasn't put a dent in the marrow, the part she really wants. She can strip a cooked beef bone clean in an afternoon. If they didn't cook them so rock hard they would probably be her favorite.
