My cat uses it just fine didn’t mind the door at all. Love that it’s enclosed because my cat throws his litter out of the regular one. The “filter” is useless it made it smell worse like the odor just got stuck there and made the whole area smell. If you just want a cheap enclosed litter box I’d buy it
Good in theory

Overall, this cat litter box did cut down on the daily litter mess on the floor, which is why I made the purchase. But, as soon as my cats used the door the first time, it fell off. I was constantly trying to reattach it and finally gave up and left it off. Not certain if this malfunction was just something that happened to my litter box only, or this has happened to others. If this is a problem across the board, then they need to go back to the drawing board and redesign the door attachment area.
for large cats

I have three cats. Two have an average weight of 14 - 16 lbs. The third is smaller. It is a nice fit for the larger cats. Handle is not meant to pick up the whole box, but makes cleaning easier to take off the lid. It is a little difficult to clean because my cats like to pee in the corners or the edges. The front should have been smooth (flat) instead of indented. My cats don't like doors, so I took the door off. My old box was sturdier than this one, but overall, for the price, this is a good litter box.

I love the size of the litter box my cat loves it .. I was hoping the flap would be sturdy.. each time she goes in and out the flap falls off I don’t want to be constantly putting it back in its place .. that’s the only fault I find with it

Our cat is a Siberian, so he’s on the bigger side. We also have dogs, so I wanted something with a cover to deter them from eating out of the litter (as I’ve heard dogs do). This was perfect! It’s big enough for him, the dogs sniff but don’t go in or poke their heads in, and I also think the filter at the top really helps with the smell (or lack-thereof, because I never smell it).
No More Litter Messes
on Oct 26, 2019
I bought these due to my male cat always makin' a mess when usin' his litter box. He's an aggressive digger. This helped get rid of those litter messes he'd make. I was worried that my other cat wouldn't use them due to hatin' enclosed litter boxes as a kitten, but she uses them perfectly fine as well. My cats are happy, therefore I am happy.
Dont get it for the door but size

We got the XL for our 'nice sized' housecat. She isnt a Maine Coon by any means but thats why I ended up buying a few more of these after a couple more cats came into our lives. They are way more spacious than other litter boxes which means less mess, less litter kicked around, theyre deep and you can easily dump a crap ton of litter in there and still have not have it flying out everywhere, they dont absorb the smell and your cats will be more comfortable. One of our newest cats is huge and not a year old yet and he easily has room to maneuver around and share this box with the other handful of cats we have. The door is basically useless though so if you want it for that reason dont bother. We got the XL for our 'nice sized' housecat. Large size seems small

The material is nice, my kitten came right in without the door. I will get him get used to the new box first before putting the door on. My kitten is 5lbs but I think this large size is still small. Wish I ordered extra large to give him more space
Great litter box

This box is next to impossible to find in stores. Chewy was the only one that had it. I have not been able to condition my cats to go through the little swinging door but it doesn’t matter. My previous one lasted close to 10 years.
Van Ness Enclosed Cat Litter Pan
on Oct 2, 2019
This litter pan has worked out great for my cats. We have 3 cats, one is tall and weighs 16lbs, another is taller and weighs 20lbs. The petite cat thinks she's in a castle. It's big enough that we don't have messes on the sides and back like before. Also the lid locks in place and the 20lb can't knock off the lid. I will definitely order another litter pan to replace the other litter box. Thank you Chewy.
