I was looking for a box to use with pressed wood pellets, and this works well enough with them. It's true that the holes in the sifter are too large and some unused pellets fall through along with the 'sawdust'. But pretty quickly a bunch of the pellets get caught in the large holes, effectively making them small enough to prevent this from becoming an ongoing problem. I tilt up the sifter away from the pan below it and rake the pellets, causing the used sawdust to fall through the holes, leaving intact pellets on top. I do agree with the complaint that there is not much room between the sifter and the catching pan, such that you do need to dump the sawdust in the lower pan every 2-3 days, butI was looking for a box to use with pressed wood pellets, and this works well enough with them. If you've never used wood pellets as cat litter, check out the online videos on this topic for a fuller description of how the system functions.… more
Great for Pine Pellets, with one adjustment...
on Aug 17, 2019
So I use pine pellet litter. For this, I flipped the cover thing that's supposed to keep litter from falling out and stuck it under the pan so that the sifting pan would be raised up from the bottom. (This is because with pine pellets, it's the opposite idea from regular litter: you want the used peed-on litter, which turns to sawdust, to end up in the bottom, and then you just throw that out). 4/5 because I wish they'd make one that was raised up on its own and you could use the cover as intended.
CATS LOVE IT!!!
on Aug 1, 2019
Not only did my three cats take to this immediately, with pine pellets in it, but it's so much easier for me to clean. I watched a youtube video where a lady shows the best and easiest method. I also put a light newspaper layer under the sifter, to absorb urine if it dripped through the falling pine dust, and it worked well. This never smelled and took minimal time to clean. I ordered two more (I have three cats) and we're going to save a bundle on the dust-free expensive clump and seal litter, plus put our pine dust in the garden compost bin, and save my aching back from heavy boxes. Win win win.
Doesn't serve the purpose
on Aug 19, 2019
There is no space or gap between the sifter Pan and the pan that it sits in so there is no way for it to sift through if you are using pine pellets. It wouldn't serve the purpose if you are using cat litter to allow the good cat litter to sift through and then have a sifter full of waste. Then there is a lot of hassle to get the sifting tray back into the bottom of the pan.
Definitely did not work with my litter or wildly aggressive burier of a cat
on Aug 13, 2019
I use a pine blend and crystals and it stuck to the holes almost immediately with pee for the pine and did nothing to help with crystals (was fine with poo). Also, the sides do almost nothing with a larger cat who really REALLY likes his stuff buried. Had to retire within a week of use. Probably would work better for smaller kitties who don't insist on a ceremonious 6 foot burial of their poo.

I was reluctant to order this litter box because of the poor reviews. I thought about it, shrugged, and figured I may as well try because of the great price.
First of all, I’m pretty sure the people complaining about packed litter are either not cleaning every day, or they are not filling their litter boxes with enough litter sand, or both. There needs to be enough sand for your cat to dig a sufficient hole without it going directly onto the grates. I really enjoy this litter box and makes my daily routine far less time consuming or generally dreadful to complete. I purchased two.
Cat litter sifting pan
on Jul 20, 2019
This pan is a great size. I love the high walls so my cat doesn't throw the litter out. When using the full size sifter the wet litter gets stuck in the grids. You have to poke them out. The pans also only fit one way. So you can't be in a hurry. I actually don't put the sifter in. I put the sifter in.the the clean pan and then dump the litter through it so the wet litter doesn't stick. I still like the all at once dump action.
Nifty Litter Sifter Mini
on Aug 7, 2019
Granted it's a bit too mini, but I had to get this sifter Box because the giant corner Box was too big for me to lift and sift. So it worked and I bought a second... one for each of My CatBoyoz.

So I gave this litter box an honest chance but it's more effort than I realized. The clumping litter I use would just clump in the holes of the sifter part the litter box making it practically useless. I ended up getting rid of the sifter and just using it as a normal litter box. The high sides do help prevent litter be flung everywhere. If a non clumping litter was used perhaps the sifter would work better.
Not worth it. Maybe company could respond and help
on May 7, 2019
I bought two since I have to older cats. They like it very much but the clumping litter sticks like concerto the grated and I have to spend twice or three times as long cleaning it as I would with a regular pan. Perhaps the company could respond with suggestions on how to improve the experience. Maybe there is a more preferred litter to use over others. I, quite frankly, want my money back. I am going to try using the pans and sandwiching the sifter between the two. Then I’ll just sift the litter into the pan below. At least I won’t be scraping grates and the litter doesn’t seem to stick to the pans. But I’ll never buy ithis product again and I would question others by this company.
