The jury is still out on this one.

The price was outstanding! 1/2 of what the usual price for a covered box/pan. The first 2 that came in were cracked in different places (either in the cover or the pan. Or some of the latches were broken). They were not usable. I was disappointed. I was REALLY needing a covered litter box/pan. One of my kitties is an energetic digger & used to send litter everywhere! I used to use a high-sided litter box but he would send the litter a flyin'. That's where the idea of getting a covered box was born. Regardless, Chewy made it right! They sent replacement boxes right away!! Their Customer Service is awesome!! After seeing all of the cautions of moving a filled box, I'm very careful with them The price was outstanding! 1/2 of what the usual price for a covered box/pan. After seeing all of the cautions of moving a filled box, I'm very careful with them. It's time to change out the litter in the boxes in a few days so hopefully they can handle that weight w/o cracking! If not, I'll have to call Customer Service again. That's why I gave this box 4 stars instead of 5. I do love the fact that I can see when 1 of the kitties is taking care of business in there. Helps me keep tabs on where they are. If they can't handle the strain of changing of the litter, I'll have to look for another covered box to purchase. … more

Very affordable, but brittle, thin
By catmom on Apr 5, 2021
part of the plastic on one of the snaps to secure the top to the bottom was pretty cracked when it arrived. Considering this, I would not use the handle to lift it. The crack was able to be reinforced with clear tape. Considering that it's not super durable, it will stay a backup litter box for an area of the house the kitty doesn't frequent much. On the plus side, the carbon filter and the flap door are a nice touch, and it is affordable.

Pretty happy with it

The first Van Ness litter box I bought was a jumbo because it was on sale. Turns out my cat is a midget compared to that size. So when this one came along on sale, I bought it. Usually cats do not like having their boxes covered because they can’t see their surroundings (don’t want to be trapped by a predator) so I thought the translucent would be nice so he could see better. This one is in my living room: I have left the door off, used the filters on top, and always mix a little bit of baking soda in the litter and I can’t smell a thing 90% of the time. I don’t recommend trying to use a liner for it since a 13gallon trash bag won’t even fit how you need it to. (Also when I first ordered this I noticed the hood was cracked sharply and the broken pieces were sharp -probably due to the freezing cold weather during transportation- and when I told chewy they immediately sent me a new one for free and I am very thankful for their customer service!) … more

Box came pretty much destroyed
By gb47635 on Apr 9, 2021
This litter box came BUSTED and missing pieces. It was also taped up in places? Which at least to me means it was broken before it was even packaged and someone decided that was still fine to send.

disappointed

The latches fall off right out of box and one was cracked . They don’t close right . When I go to push the latches down they fall off . I bought two and both are doing the same thing . The size is right and I like it is translucent. So a star for each of these .

Low quality
By JjLynn on Apr 1, 2021
Been looking for a decent covered litter box to try to contain my cats need to throw litter everywhere. This is not it. With the door on it my cats won't use it and the material is low quality as well . For the price purchase something else.

Broke within a week
By FoxxRoxx on Apr 13, 2021
This litter box blocks odors but it’s so flimsy. I was scooping too rough and the entire side CRACKED! I’ve only had them for a week a this point. I am very unhappy and would not recommend this litter box.

THE Best Covered Litter Litter Box
By MaoMaosMama on Jan 19, 2021
My cat Mao-Mao has been presenting me with her idea of having fun while she's taking care of business; she's been flinging her litter all over the bathroom!! So, I was forced to look for a covered litter box. It is my hope (with my fingers crossed) that a covered litter would (hopefully) keep her from getting all of her "business" from going outside the box. So far, so good! Luckily no litter can get out where the top portion of the box meets the bottom portion the hood. I didn't want her feeling locked in with the cover having a door so I removed the door. I'm happy to say that she's no longer getting litter everywhere. Trouble with this catbox
By Susan on Mar 1, 2021
I love this cat box, but a latch was broken on the first one I ordered. I informed Chewy, and true to form, they sent another one out to replace it. Sadly, a latch was broken on this one also. I still love it, it's what I was looking for, I just don't pick it up by the handle.
