Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

This flea and tick treatment should be administered once a month.
Some products that are safe for dogs are NOT safe for use around cats. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat is it safe to use on the dogs with a cat in the house?

Due to their unique physiology and inability to metabolize the permethrin in Vectra 3D® for Dogs, this product must not be used on cats. As a precaution, when using this product in households with both dogs and cats, please keep the dog(s) that have been treated with a Vectra 3D® product separated from cats until the product has completely dried. Once dry, cats and dogs may again interact freely. Average drying time for Vectra 3D is 6-8 hours however drying times can vary. To ensure that the product is completely dry, you may run a facial tissue along the application site. When there
is no evidence of moisture on the tissue, the product is dry.
After the product dries, can the dog swim? Will the protection be effective after many swims during the month,?

Vectra 3D remains effective in controlling fleas and ticks for a full month if your pet is immersed in water through swimming or regular bathing.
