Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Complete the Routine

For best results, pair the Antiseptic & Antifungal Shampoo with Antiseptic & Antifungal Spray. The shampoo formula is pH balanced for your pet’s sensitive skin—unlike human shampoos, which have a lower pH that can be unsafe or irritating for your pet.

Questions & Answers

Is this supposed to prevent future fleas and ticks after use or is it just a one time contact killer?
Answer by ChewyApr 26, 2020
Do not reapply product for 7 days. When shampooing animal, avoid eyes. Use cloth or sponge to shampoo around animal’s eyes. Wear rubber gloves (mitts) when applying this product. Thoroughly wet the entire hair-coat with warm water and then apply enough shampoo to make a lather and work thoroughly into the hair-coat. For maximum parasite control allow lather to remain in contact with skin for five to ten minutes before rinsing. Do not use on nursing puppies under 12 weeks of age. Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals, or animals on medication.

Why does it say do no reapply solution for 7 days?
Answer by ChewyDec 23, 2018
Overuse of flea and tick treatments is not recommended as it can cause averse reactions.

can i use a conditioner after using this?
Answer by ChewyOct 16, 2019
While not necessary, you can use the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Hot Spot & Itch Relief Conditioner after shampooing. For maximum parasite control, we recommend to allow Flea and Tick Shampoo to remain in contact with skin for five to ten minutes before rinsing. Then, you can apply the conditioner and allow it to remain on pet for 5 minutes. Rinse well.

Is this product safe to use on Guinea Pigs?
Answer by ChewyDec 18, 2019

AMAAZINGGGGG

We have been struggling with the season switch with fleas and ticks. We got new seresto collars along with this medicated shampoo and it was MAGIC! left the girls coats shiny and fluffy and best thing was flea and tick free! Living in the woods is hard but this shampoo makes it easier!

killed them for a day :(

It killed a bunch of the fleas on the cats, and we even left it in longer than it says to on the bottle the second time around, but it didn’t seem to kill them all, even with weekly baths. I also bought a flea comb to comb them between baths to see if that would fix it, but even with combing them multiple times a day, every day, the fleas are still here! I think I might have to start charging them rent.. the photo is after bath number 5, most of those fleas were still moving and a few latched onto me and bit me as I was drying him off :(

only shampoo I can use

I have a 5 year old Boston terrier, he has pretty bad food and environmental allergies on top of anxiety that causes him to itch and lose fur, this is the only shampoo I have found and been able to use that doesn’t make his itching worse! He grew a lot of his fur back after we started using this, hoping with new food he will grow back the rest of his fur!

Good but leaves my dog's skin dry

This is good to kill the flees but leaves my dog's skin super dry and flacky. I wish it was more diluted so that it wouldn't dry out his skin. He gets a little bit of dandruff after he's dry.

Did not work

Bathed cats several times. 2 cats, 3 baths each. After removing fleas and spraying furniture and all areas they frequent, the larva wasn’t killed and reappeared on both cats over and over. I’d like a refund or for y’all to send me something that actually works

Unsure but maybe?

Fleas are relentless and even more so this year. My poor Rosy has skin and flea allergies. This shampoo does kill a good portion of fleas but a few do remain. That said, there are fewer than before so maybe.

it definitely works!

If you leave this on for at least 5 mins as directed you can visibly see the dead fleas. I washed my pets with this and if I saw a flea it was dead. This works in killing them but not necessarily preventing them for a long time.

This stuff works!

This product works extremely well. If you follow the directions, it’s does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If your dogs has fleas and you want them gone, buy this product.
