my kitties prefer the powder - both avoid this (and me) like the plague
on May 31, 2019
I was desperate to help my Lulu with her itchy chin and recent sneeze/coughing spells so I ordered both the paste an the powdered form of this. Neither of the cats will go near this product, or the food I have disguised it in. They run when they see me with it or smell it. Powder mixed in with their wet food seems to work better. Still waiting to see if Lulu benefits. She's been down and with recently developed chin acne. Took her to the vet but her labs were all fine.
Helps kitties with herpes virus!
on May 23, 2019
My kitty has the herpes virus and at one point it flared up and she got an upper respiratory infection. I kept giving her a pump 2 times a day as directed by her vet and it helped get rid of her URI. It also helps with her leaky eyes. She loves the taste of it too! She thinks it’s a treat haha!
Finally, a Lysine supplement my cat will eat!
on Apr 14, 2019
My cat has had respiratory problems since she was a kitten and the vets recommended Lysine but she would not eat any of the supplements I bought. Her new vet recommended this product because it was a paste that you could put on smear on her paw or nose but she actually likes it and eats it right off of my finger. She also sounds less congested since she started taking this two weeks ago so I am thrilled!

Give this to our senior kitties and it seems to help them stay healthy. was recommended by our vet when one had a respirtory infection.
None of our cats liked this
on Mar 4, 2019
I have several cats who would benefit from this product but none of them liked it. They would not lick it off my fingers and ate around it when it was on their food. I liked the idea of the container though. You don't need a measuring spoon for this but depending on how hard you pushed you got different amounts.
Seems to work

Both my cats has upper respiratory and eye infections from the shelters they were in. This stuff seems to help. One kitty licks it off my hand like it's a treat. She hears me take the cap off and comes right away. Other kitty is not interested; if she licks it at all, it's only a little. Luckily they have both built their immunity and don't need it so much anymore. I still like to keep it on hand, just in case there's a flare up.

Cheaper than the vet and helps build immunity to maybe (fingers crossed) prevent future flare ups of the virus
Matteo and Theo say "uh uh"
on Nov 28, 2018
My cats take L-Lysine on a daily basis, the powder form which is mixed with their pate. Recently, they've decided they don't want pate, just kibble. I thought the paste would be a great way for them to get the L-Lysine rather than sprinkling the power on the kibble. However, apparently they were so turned off by the smell/taste they'd rather go without a meal.
So, it's a no go for my boys. Maybe if your cats aren't too fussy, it'd be ok for them.
Lysine supplement for kitten
on Dec 30, 2018
My kitten much prefers this paste to the "chew treats". She would not eat those at all. She enjoys the taste of this, but I have only been using for a week or so, so I am not sure if it is effective on her upper respiratory / weepy eye issues. We shall see!
2 cats - 1 loves, 1 does not
on Dec 30, 2018
We recently adopted a cat from a shelter who came with some URI remnants and passed some onto our other cat. Luckily the new cat loves the Vetoquinol. The other one not so much, but it seems to be helping clear up the symptoms in both cats!
