    Worked Quickly

    By on

My poor GSD had eaten a portion of pampas grass which greatly irritated her GI resulting in weeks of chronic diarrhea. On top of that, she had a close encounter with a skunk who did not reciprocate being friends, and skunk sprayed her face. This caused my dog additional stress and prolonged her diarrhea. After 2 rounds of metronidazole some success, but not seeing total relief, so I ordered these tablets. The results were immediate. However, in fairness, I don't know how much the Rx played a part, but I can attest these tablets helped return her stool back to 100% normal motility (even not at the full dose), which is something the Rx wasn't able to do as quickly. Good maintenance dose for our sensitive tummy dogs

    By on

Our dogs tend to get into things & get diarrhea (isn't that all dogs?) or maybe someone fed them a little too much pizza (or maybe they stole it....). In any event we were using the syringe paste version of this (purchased here on Chewy) about every 3 weeks, so I am trying this as a maintenance dose once a day (which is not the recommended use, but I am comfortable trying it that way). So far we have not had any diarrhea issues and their poop is much more normal & predictable. Note we are also using "The Honest Kitchen Perfect Form" herbal powder 1/8 teaspoon 2x a day, along with 1 tablet ProPectalin 1x per day. And we have always put a scoop of pumpkin on their food.

    Protecting your dog's tummy!

    By on

Dogs need a healthy G.I.tract..and the need will more likely appear as they start to age. Pro-pectalin helps to keep your pet's stomach functioning with good bacteria and a healthy digestive function. This supplement will assist when their tummies are needing assistance in digestive aid and to help when they have diarrhea and bowel disorders. It will help to return their digestive function to a normal solid 'poop'..and eliminate problems in their colon..

a must have for any dog owner

    By on

This pill is a must have for all dog owners. So maybe you get the liquid version or you stick with this pill. Either way get it. The vet charges you a vet visit then more money for endosorb (Exact same as pro-pectalin) tabs and you barely get a handful of those. These pills help firm up poop so if your dog has watery diarrhea (mess to clean up) it can save your life till you can get to a vet. Now with my dog the pills helped so we had no accidents but we also took her to the vet. Because you can tell there is a difference in a semi good poop cuz pills are in the system, and an actually good poop cuz your dog actually feels healthy and is in good health. This money saver helps when you see your vet you can pay for ACTUAL medicine and not “prescribed” endosorb tabs which are basically what this pro-pectalin pill is. Yes the pills are large. Yes they are hard. I recommend a pill crusher be purchased. I did them with pill treats or in wet food. My dog wasn’t anymore or less crazy about this pill than she was the vet prescribed endosorb pills. So that just seems to be the nature of these types of pills. But I highly recommend you keep some form of this product in your daily emergency kit for your dog. It is so helpful when they are sick and you are waiting on a vet appointment and don’t want to come home to a huge mess. … more

    It works wonders

    By on

Give it time (24-48 hours) but this probiotic works! Our vet only said give 10 days but my sister’s a vet too & said it’s fine to keep a small upkeep dose. Moe’s (our senior English bulldog) stool cleared up after antibiotic related diarrhea. I crack the gigantic pieces with a hammer to make them easier to eat. He enjoys the taste over his kibble! Highly recommend.

Works great! I keep it on hand for gi tract upsets

    By on

My vet prescribed this many years ago when I first adopted my dog when she was 8 yrs old and had grumbly tummy and sometimes pudding poop. The instructions were to give during those times when she had an upset tummy or diarrhea. Just used during those times - not every day all the time. Works wonders - in the same day.

Might be good, but no luck getting our dog to take.

We have a somewhat picky dog with a chronic digestive issue. We have been using the liquid kaolin/pectin, along with a probiotic, and adding it to his food. He eats that without any problem. I thought these Vetoquinol tablets would be great since they already have a probiotic added and would be easier to use. I did not realize just how huge these tablets are, about the size of a quarter around and thick. I first tried just giving them to our dog since they are flavored, no luck, he had not interest in eating them. I then tried wrapping them in everything from Pill Pockets, cheese, lunch meat...each time, as soon as our dog would chew into the tablets, he would spit them out. We then tried adding them whole to canned food, our dog found them and would eat around the tablets. So, as a final option, we tried crushing them, which is not an easy task since they are large and very hard. We then mixed the crushed tables into our dog's food. Our dog once again was onto us, this time refusing to eat all together. We are finally giving up and going back to the liquid, which for some reason he doesn't mind eating with his food. I am sure these are a good product, but if your pet won't take them, then obviously they are a waste of money. I wish they came in a smaller amount to be able to try them. We plan to donate the bottle to the shelter, hopefully they can put them to good use. … more

    Really helps

    By on

I have a sweet senior dog that is on a few different meds and the newest one seems to give her loose poop. Canned pumpkin used to be the answer, but since adding this new med, nothing was working until I purchased this product. It's not 100% effective, but it comes pretty close and makes life a lot easier for her as well as me when it comes to clean up. I will definitely purchase again.

    Vetoquinol Anti- Diarrhea

    By on

One of my dogs has had a real problem and the Vet recommended this product. Only thing is that my other 3 dogs also love the tablets so much they try to get them away from the dog I ordered them for. May run out sooner than expected. This product is definitely working and may I say that Chewy's pricing is beyond believable.

    normal stools

    By on

My dog has been on anti-biotics for more than 6 months for irritable bowel/digestion problems. After weaning her off of the anti-biotics, she still had VERY loose stools. Propectaline has stopped the growling stomach issue and given her normal stools. It also is re-introducing the proper microbial flora needed for proper digestion. We use the tablet form and only use 1/4 of 1 tablet a day. It works very well for her, and has totally solved her problem.
