The shampoo I used to use for my itchy dog isn't available any longer. I tried a few others that didn't work. Finally I found this one. After giving my itchy girl Sammie a bath she hasn't been scratching and itching! This has a light, fresh scent with just a hint of Nyquil smell to it but it doesn't leave any odor on her coat afterwards. Like most medicated shampoos it doesn't lather but just work it into their skin for 10 minutes and rinse and you will be amazed at the results! LOVE THIS!!! Please don't stop making this shampoo.
Our 18 month old border collie mix has been dealing with terrible itchy skin since at least 6 months old. We’ve gone to multiple vets, tried specialty foods, supplements, shampoos/conditioners/sprays. The vet said it was just “his breed and his age” and was giving him Cytopoint injections every 8-12 weeks. These injections temporarily stop the itch, but do not get to the source of the problem. So as soon as they start to wear off, my poor pup would be back to itching. After doing my own reading, I figured this was worth a shot (apparently one of the common symptoms of skin yeast infection in dogs is they have a distinct smell, even after bathing. To me, it’s similar to a popcorn or tortilla chip smell, which my dog totally had). I followed the instructions twice a week for the first week, making sure to leave it on for the full ten minutes before rinsing. The difference was apparent even after the first wash. His itching and licking tapered off. Even his coat looked fuller and more shiny. The shampoo is bright green. It’s not my favorite smell, but not terrible either. After all the money we spent on vet visits and other things, this $30 shampoo was worth every scent. Highly recommend.
the vet sold us this for our bouvier. It is not helpful at all in our dog.s condition. I cannot stand the smell either- it smells like horrible grape cough medicine or something. Why do they think we want to smell grapes like that???? It is SO thick it barely penetrates the double coat of a bouvier. We will go back to the other brand which works much better and smells so much nicer.
Best EVER shampoo for my dog's coat. He has allergies and tends to get toe irritation
Really disappointed in the company that makes the shampoo . Even though they are going to continue to make this shampoo they discontinuing the conditioner which my veterinarian prescribed
I have tried similar products that did not yield the success of this shampoo. The effects were immediate.
This was prescribed by our vet for dermatitis and it does seem to keep it under control
This shampoo is really good. Cleans well. Make sure to rinse it well. Only need a little.
My relatives’ shih tzu used to have a scabby skin disease which did not respond well to some other for seborrheic dermatitis treatments, but this helped. This is worthy to try if you can’t foot the bills from a veterinarian.
This product is used by my vet who specializes in skin allergies. It’s the best shampoo thus fare
