I started giving this to my cats and other cats that visit (not daily, about 5 days on and a few days off, as needed) to help reduce the runny eyes and nose symptoms of chronic herpes respiratory diseases. The vet said that rescue cats are often exposed as little kittens and that vaccinating them (FVRCP I started giving this to my cats and other cats that visit (not daily, about 5 days on and a few days off, as needed) to help reduce the runny eyes and nose symptoms of chronic herpes respiratory diseases. The vet said that rescue cats are often exposed as little kittens and that vaccinating them (FVRCP...the R and C are the respiratory viruses) still helps their immune systems keep the herpes in check, but they can have flare-ups, especially when they are around other cats that are in flare-up, so the Lysine helps control the herpes symptoms. Some cats will lick it off my finger like a treat, some cats will eat food that I've squeezed a little gel on, some I just have to smear it on their front paws or somewhere that they'll lick it from while cleaning themselves. I've also used the powdered version mixed in food for kittens. I like this brand better than the others I've tried. … more

I have to mix this with cat treats to get her to even touch it and I can tell she is disappointed that her treats are not getting served plain. She only sniffs at it and walks away if served by itself..

Kittens loved it. They haven't been on long enough to tell if it's going to help. But they like the taste.

L-lysine oral gel for cats
By Kathy on Jan 9, 2021
My cats did not even attempt to try this after smelling it. I tried to mix it in their favorite foods and they would not touch it. This is a strange flavor for a cat in the first place.

Didn't like
By Bambi on Jan 4, 2021
This may be a great product if your kitty's like the taste, but all 4 of mine didn't like it, so unfortunately we were't able to review the effectiveness of the product.

Gel Formulation is Great
By LaMammaDeRico on Dec 13, 2020
It's too soon to tell if this is helping his "pantherness" (male black cat). But he gets HomeoPet Nose drops as well and this gel formula is much easier to squeeze out onto my fingertip and then pop it into his mouth. Very little left on my finger to wipe off on his paws! This is maple flavored as well, although since cats can't taste sweet I'm not sure how impressed he is with that. But he doesn't fight me over it, so that's all to the good.
