The non-drowsy formula uses alpha-casozepine, a natural ingredient found in cow’s milk, to help balance the stress reactions of dogs and cats safely and with no tranquilizing or sedating effects. Milk-sourced alpha-casozepine is known to promote relaxation in babies, and it works in a similar way for your pet, giving him a sense of comfort and contentment to help him cope with stress or adapt to new situations. It’s perfect for most pet stressors like loud noises, visits to the vet or groomer, as well as unfamiliar people and places. Plus, it’s free of lactose and preservatives, making it ideal for sensitive tummies.

Our cat Jack was getting anxious causing him to go "out" of the litter box, This 75 mg version of the product was very helpful in letting Jack be his normal self, and he started going back to using his litter box almost right away.. still trying to figure out the source of the anxiety, but in the mean time it is really helping him. The pricing of the 200 count bottle was very helpful.. but the pricing for the big bottle of 450 mg for the big puppy who gets upset on occasions due to fireworks loving neighbors and etc... was ridiculously priced and I am still stuck ordering that one one 30 count bottle at a time... thankfully 7 small bottles have taken me through an entire year. Thank you for a very helpful product.
My cat freaks out when company comes. Hides, doesn’t eat and gets comstipated. I need to calm him when company comes for a week.. No matter what food I put it in, he must have smelt it. Dry, wet, even tuna!! Walked away and cried for food. This med needs to be in tablet form so I can get it down his throat He takes tablets just fine. Very expensive and unable to use. Do not recommend for cats in this capsule form which you open to put on or in food..
I've used this product with success in the past when I had a cat with hyperthyroidism. In addition to his meds this helped keep him calm in general. Now, I have an older (13 years) boy who seems to be exhibiting signs of arthritis. So, in addition to other supplements specifically meant for easing arthritis pain/inflammation, I am just starting to give him this to keep him relaxed. It's only been a couple of days. He seems pretty calm but I'm not sure I can attribute it to Zyklene or not, yet. My gut says it does calm cats down in a gentle way...I don't like sedation.
We had a 7 month, petite, rescue kitty returned because she was eliminating outside the litter box (mostly peeing outside but also poo too). We took her to the vet to insure that there we no medical issues. We tried various litters, litter boxes, depths of litter, locations of boxes. Finally, we tried Zylkene. After just a few days, she seemed more relaxed. She now uses her box on a regular basis! She doesn't cover her poo but at least it is in the litterbox!!!!!!!!!!!! We open the capsule and scatter the Zylkene over 1/2 a Friskies lil'soups once a day. She also seems to be nicer to the other cats in the rescue. We will leave her on this for 2 months and then revisit adoption with full disclosure. If she has a second failure, we will just move her into "unadoptable" status and keep her in the sancuary.
I've used Zylkene on two separate occasions. The 1st time was with a 4YR old male, Herman who I introduced to my resident 14YR old male, Lazarus. It didn't seem to make much difference with Herman. thankfully they worked out their relationship on their own. The 2nd time - most recently - I have seen a dramatic difference in my new 9 month old male kitten, Chui to my current resident 5YR old male, Digit. Initially, Chui was a non-stop ball of energy who enjoyed ninja-attacking Digit at every opportunity, which he didn't appreciate. As soon as I mixed the contents of the capsule in Chui's food, he calmed down considerably. It only seems to last for about 4 hours. Given that he's still young, I'm hesitant to increase the dosage.
My pup has seizures and one of his triggers is stress. My recommendation from our trusted vet we ordered zylkene. Since using the product my pup is able to relax a little more and has decreased his number of seizures.
My vet suggested this supplement when I asked for help with one of my cats who was bullying my other cat. He wasn’t helped by pheromones but I have noticed his bullying has decreased quite a bit, he is less fearful of strangers and more affectionate towards us. It took about 3 weeks to notice a change but I’m really happy they’re getting along better. I wish I’d known about xylene sooner!
These had no effect on my dog. But, giving it a star because the packaging was nice and the capsules were easy to open.
Remarkable change in less than 2 weeks. Using along with Adaptil collar and behavior mods. 5 star results except for capsule. Buried it in food but she dropped one and it stuck to her fur and turned it blue. I'm now opening and mixing it in the food. A tablet would be easier. Pricey for long term use but an amazing product.
Zylkene was recommended by my vet for my small dogs nervous, extremely shy, behavior. It has worked wonders! My dog is not as nervous and the shyness is diminishing. She's a rescue so it's a journey! No side effects.
