Description

Help keep your furry friend calm during stressful times with the Vetoquinol Zylkene Behavior Support Capsules Medium Dog Supplement 225 mg. The non-drowsy formula uses alpha-casozepine, a natural ingredient found in cow’s milk, to help balance the stress reactions of dogs safely and with no tranquilizing or sedating effects. Milk-sourced alpha-casozepine is known to promote relaxation in babies, and it works in a similar way for your pal, giving him a sense of comfort and contentment to help him cope with stress or adapt to new situations. It’s perfect for most doggie stressors like loud noises, visits to the vet or groomer, as well as unfamiliar people and places. Plus, it’s free of lactose and preservatives, making it ideal for sensitive doggies’ tummies.

Best med for my skittish cat

By Annette on Jan 18, 2021

We adopted a 2-year old, 10 pound skittish cat and I found that Feliway and Composure didn't help. Zylkene has been working like a charm and at the suggestion of my vet, he is taking this higher dose daily (normally just given before a stressful situation). I will never forget that after the third day of taking this, he ran up into my bed and wanted to be petted. He has gradually improved - and is very friendly when at specific spots in the house. Still skittish when he is not - but so much better.

    Works but Expensive

By Greenguitarman on Jan 2, 2021

We use Zylkene to solve elimination issues outside the litter box for our 14 lb orange male kitty. He has been a lot mellower with daily use of the product. I gave it four stars because the product is expensive, there is no generic alternative and Vetoquinol, based on an email conversation with them, is arrogant about pricing, claiming the retailer is responsible for the high price.

    Not for my dog.

By JWalters on Dec 7, 2020

I think this is totally hit and miss. My vet recommended I try it as it's worked in other cases, but did zero for my dog's anxiety. I wish I would have only bought one bottle - this stuff is really expensive. I had also tried a different "natural" product and it didn't work either. I'm sure it's worth trying as clearly some have great benefit from it. I wish I could find out before buying!

Zylkene not working for my older dog

By Callie on Jan 30, 2021

My old dog, Callie, 12 years has been attacking my new puppy, Lulu. Zylkene tabs haven't worked these past 7 days. I believe my dog needs a stronger medicine like Prozac.

    Zylkene helps

By Martha on Oct 25, 2020

I do dog rescue. I've had some fearful dogs and Zylkene does help blunt their fears without having to resort to drugs.

    not what I hoped for

By chewy on May 20, 2020

vet put my dog on this due to her upset stomach and anxiety and damage to the house while we’re away at work. Used for many months every morning, but saw no improvements to the separation anxiety and ripping things apart while we are away, dog is 30 lbs so I thought one dosage in the morning would be fine. Was told you don’t notice this is working until you take the dog off and see the difference, but not sure if it’s worth the price of the small bottle for no obvious improvements....

Recommended by Vet for Cat - Didn’t work

By MuttleyCrue on Apr 13, 2020

This was recommended by my cats vet to help in altering his behavior of preying on our other cats - stalking, instigating fights, and biting their necks. He has been getting it daily and there has been absolutely no change. If anything, he’s instigating more fights each day. I don’t know why because he’s on Royal Canin calming food as well (which also doesn’t seem to be working) and he’s still a complete bully. I have no does what’s next....but something has to give so we’ll see what the vet says. Jaspers only a little over a year old...

    Has a calming effect

By GranC on Jun 14, 2020

My vet recommended Zylkene to help calm my new kitten's antics and it does help. Although it says it's for dogs, it is definitely effective for cats as well.
