For my cat biting his tail

By Cathie on Mar 27, 2021

My cat injured his tail somehow, no visible signs of injury but some swelling at the base of the tail. He is an inside/outside cat. He started biting and clawing his own tail hurting himself. He was on pain meds for 6 days that helped but they are expensive and the vet recommended this supplement for behavior and have been giving it to him for 2 weeks now. After stopping the Med because we couldn’t see the best results we were looking for, she only intermittently chewed on herself. Recently she started resuming the behavior in an aggressive way. We gave her the caps again but it doesn’t completely curtail the behavior. Now that the bottle is empty, we won’t resume. We had to open the capsule and sprinkle on her food and she wasn’t happy about the taste. These are very expensive for not much benefit—for our purposes. Perhaps on an as-needed, short term basis it might help but the cost is a consideration. … more
