Description

VetriScience Laboratories’ Cardio-Strength For Cats and Dogs is a capsule formula designed to support cardiovascular health and function in dogs and cats. Cardio-Strength features 11 synergistic ingredients that are vital for elderly animals, and is recommended to support animals with pre-existing sub-optimal cardiovascular functions, breeds that are disposed to cardiovascular stress, or geriatric dogs. It is designed to support heart muscles and cardiovascular functions, as well as reduce oxidative stress and support circulation and better oxygen utilization. Ingredients like L-taurine support regular heartbeat while minimizing the loss of potassium and supporting proper electrolyte utilization.

The inclusion of potassium is necessary for maintaining electrolyte balance. DMG acts as an antioxidant and supports circulation and immune system health, while CoQ10 supports heart tissue oxygenation and heart muscle strength. L-carnitine supports the use of fat for energy and oxygen utilization while also supporting fat metabolism and helping the body balance triglyceride and cholesterol levels. EPA and GLA (fatty acids) support circulation and blood flow, and ingredients like vitamin E support normal clotting and healthy capillary strength, making Cardio-Strength an incredibly comprehensive formula for cardiovascular health.

  • Splitting Only 1 Capsule Daily Between 2 Dogs

Neither of my large senior dogs has any real health issues. The older dog has been breathing irregular especially at night and I mentioned it to vet who did not seem to feel their was any condition that needed to be treated. I am giving this for a time to see if there is any improvement. In both my and my husbands opinion, she seems to have more energy, is more vibrant and happier and friskier. We are happy with these results and may purchase again so we can have our wonderful Daisy with us for as long as we can.

  • Really works!

My 12 yr old Chihuahua has an enlarged heart and had a grade 3 heart murmur. My vet put her on blood pressure medication and a diuretic. I researched and found these online. I ordered a bottle and started her on them. When I took her for her checkup my vet was very surprised because her murmur was now a grade 2. He said that murmurs very rarely get better. I will definitely keep her on these!

I have four cats, all from the same litter. (long story) But one has a bad heart defect. Grade 6 murmur. One side of the heart slightly enlarged. Has episodes on occasion and breathes hard. On three kinds of Meds ..Started on them at 3 Mos of age, and now 2 1/2. I always wanted to give him Vitamins, but never got much recommendation from the Cardiologist. I called the Cat Clinic and they recommended this brand. I Faxed the page to my Cardiologist for review, and she said it would be fine to give him. A little nervous, but should be Okay! He is very skinny because of the heart issue..I plan to place the order next week. Sounds like you have to open the pill and sprinkle the powder on I have four cats, all from the same litter. • Love, Love, Love this supplement

I use this daily for my dog with congestive heart failure. This supplement along with switching to a low sodium (raw) diet, made all the difference. Even my cardiologist remarked that he was surprised there was not much of a decline as he had anticipated at our 6-month and again at 1-year visit.

  • Not edible

My dog has a tiny mouth so I try to empty the capsules onto food. It stinks so badly that she won't eat a bite. Definitely a waste of my money.

  • good product

My dog is feeling much better since he's been on these vitamins for a couple of weeks. The only problem is getting him to eat the food after the powder is sprinkled on it.

  • tip for successfully feeding this to cats

    By on

Thanks to everyone for the tip, my 5 yr. old cat is actually enjoying his daily "treat", and I'm hoping it helps his heart condition. I use about a third of a small jar of baby food (Beech Nut's beef and broth, chicken and broth, and turkey and broth which has no spices or additives, and Gerber's ham & gravy which unfortunately has some cornstarch but he loves it), and I mix in the powder from one capsule. My crazy cat takes a few licks and walks away, but when I follow him and dip my finger in the mixture, he licks it clean. I keep dipping, and he not only finishes it all pretty quickly, but then starts licking the bowl clean as well. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's working so well.

  • Mom of chi with severe heart disease

I normally don't write reviews, but after all the research I did on this product and my experience with it, I felt compelled to. My 12 year old chi was diagnosed with a grade 4 heart murmur and hypertension three years ago and was put on enalapril and vetmedin last year. I was overly concerned about the side effects of these medications and wanted to see what I could add to his diet, while continuing the medication. Well a year later, he is stabilized and doing great. Our last trip to the cardiologist was 2 weeks ago and they said his hypertension has gone away. His murmur is still there, but stabilized. I'll take it!! • Great product

    By on

This has a very good combination of amino acids and other supplements but the taurine is much lower than our vet recommended. By combining it with a straight taurine product we get exactly what our dog needs.

  • Glad to have found these!

I did not see these in November when I ordered a different product of the same brand as well as extra CoQ10. I am not sure if I overlooked them or if they were not being carried then, but when I heard about them from someone on Facebook, I knew I had to give them a try for a few reasons. First, this will reduce the number of capsules given to the one dog since I won't need the extra CoQ10 capsule. Second and most importantly, I have very much liked the VetriScience brand and feel like the products work well. The dog doesn't mind them either. She'll eat anything which works in my favor. I am hoping they will continue to keep her heart in decent shape since she came to me with some issues.
