Are these VetriScience cat treats the same as the ones I got from the vet?
Answer by • Sep 27, 2019
These chews are available for purchase through a vet or clinic along with other major retailers and distributors.
For a milder effect, can I cut a treat into halves or thirds?
Answer by • Sep 08, 2022
These Composure Calming chews are able to be cut into smaller pieces if needed. They cannot guarantee that the ingredients are mixed throughout the chew if they cut it into a smaller piece than half.
I’m not sure how my cat grew up in her previous home, but she constantly meows. She goes to the vet regularly and she’s perfectly healthy. She just likes to be vocal lol. Whenever it’s time for bed, she always sleeps right up beside me and will get the speedies late at night and start yowling. Whenever I leave for work, I can hear her yowling all the way outside. She also hates when I’m moving around the house to clean. She gets all the attention in the world and she’s spoiled rotten. I gave her 2 of these supplements earlier just to see how she would react, and they seem to be working? I’ll have to try again at night or whenever I leave the house because that’s when she seems to get triggered the most. I think it has something to do with separation anxiety. Let’s hope this works!

Will Not Eat
I can not get any of my cats to eat these. I have tried cutting them with no luck. They will put them in their mouth then just spit them out. Tried breaking up and mixing with their favorite treats and they then refuse to eat the treat. No idea if they work if the cat does eat them.

no idea if it works because he won't eat it
I let him sniff it and he seemed interested initially and tried to put it in his mouth. Spit it out immediately, so I thought maybe it was just too big for him and broke it up for him. Did not want to put it back in his mouth. Put it on top of his kibble in case he changed his mind. Did not touch the kibble for a day, eventually ate his kibble but did not touch the treat.

Minimum calm
Sadly, this product did not live up to the hype. It did absolutely nothing to calm my cat. There is a coding that she liked but once that was gone, the little fish shaped morsel laid there dead. It was truly a waste of money.

VetriScience Composure
When I got these they are not soft chews, they are so hard I was skeptical of giving them to my cat, I have to break them in pieces which was hard me to do as well. I can't find an expiration date on the package so I don't know if that is the case. I can't say if they work yet because I just started giving them to him.

hard, not chewy
I got these to give to one of my cats before bedtime. Because at bedtime he sees this as the perfect time to annoy another one of my cats. First thing I noticed about these was the size. They are pretty big. I gave him a whole one and he had a hard time chewing it. So I started cutting them in half, and it took a lot of pressure with the knife. They are hard as rocks. I felt bad giving them to my cat so I eventually stopped. I didn’t even notice a change in behavior when he took them. We tried one a night and two a night.

3 is the magic number
One of my cats is extremely energetic at night to the point where he bites us & bullies our other cat. On his reaaally playful days we’ll give him 3 of these and within 20 mins he’ll be sleepy. We’ve tried giving him 2 and a half, but that wasn’t enough to work on him. He needs 3 to chill out! Works great :)

Anxiety Relief!
Simon is a very anxious cat, and things seem to set him off, especially at night, (he was adopted and I think nighttimes weren't good in his old household). These have been a lifesaver. He looks forward to them and they seem to give a sort of meltonin effect? He tends to just doze off. I give him 1 when he seems to be feeling particularly anxious at night, and they've helped so much.

Helpful for cranky Coon
Our 15 year old Maine Coon is struggling with big changes at home. Giving them one or two of these daily has helped to relax him and less likely to hiss at the upsetting new objects.

If only they would eat them
I wanted to calm my cats enough so that I could trim their nails. It worked moderately well and I was able to trim four claws on my big boy. I was willing to try again the next day but the next day, they would not eat the chews. So a fail overall for me.
