These treats calm our hyper maltipoo when she goes a bit crazy in the early evening. It was recommended by out vet because she is so small at 11.5 pounds he did not like to prescribe medication. This a longer with Thundershirt makes for a peaceful evening.
The reviews for these are good, but we have seen literally not change in the behavior of our 2 year old whippet mix with us about 6 weeks. She gets frantic in her crate when we leave, so we tried these 1/2 hour before and then daily and before. No real change. Still barking and pawing frantically and tearing up anything she can get her teeth on (we were told she was crate trained). The only reason we can lure her into the crate are very special treats and toys, only for the crate.
My dog will eat them but they are not helping with anxiety. She's 53 pounds and I've been giving her two each morning for 16 days. They do not seem to have any effect.
This calming treat is one of the few things that my dog really loves, and it subtly calms him. He gets one daily because he is so busy and restless. I have not tried it in a really stressful situation yet.
My poor pup has high anxiety. This works so well for her! 1 chew with breakfast and she is good for the day! I really appreciate my vet for recommending this. I was also told there is an Rx dose too. This one helps my baby so much!
I was recommended these by my vet to take the edge off my one dog. I ordered some, so we will see how he does, but to everyone leaving a negative review: this isn’t a miracle and if you expect it, that’s why you’re disappointed. It’s supposed to help take the edge off while you put in the work to train or counter condition the negative/unwanted behavior or reaction. When you have a toddler, do you just throw a bunch of words at them or do you show them the behavior you want and comfort them? Same thing.
Our little guy has severe Mommy separation anxiety. We tried one and while he still barked when I left, he settled down next to Daddy and was pretty chill while I was gone.
We were very hopeful this would be just the trick for our guy to chill during trimming. Sadly, no result for our guy.
I have been using these VetriScience Claming Treats for about 5 months when needed. I checked with my Vet to make sure his was a good brand (after I did some research) and they agree they sell them at the Vet office. I give to my Yorkie when we leave the house more than 3 hours and when he goes for his grooming and to the Vet (cause he is a wiggle butt :) and they work wonderful for him.
Thunder and lightning last night and for the first time my dog didn’t shake
