How does this not affect their personality and energy level yet calms them during a thunderstorm or fireworks etc???

These chews help calm through the use of L-Theanine, a chemical that is present in many plants, including the plant used to produce green tea. They also make use of Thiamine (Vitamin B1) and their trade marked Colostrum Calming Complex.
Will this product work for separation anxiety? My 5 year old pit bull is still anxious when I leave, and I adopted him at 6 months. Also cries/shakes during car rides, when it rains, and when bathed. Looking for solutions.

When your pet is stressed, it can lead to hyperactivity, scratching, destructive or aggressive behavior, urine marking, panting, trembling or pacing. Composure helps you avoid these types of reactions with chews that can be given as needed as well as a maximum-strength liquid for high-stress situations.

These chews can be given daily or on an as-needed basis. It is safe to double or triple the dose in times of increased stress. It takes 20-30 minutes for the chews to show effect and lasts up to four hours.
How do i stop these from getting hard ? I seal the bag properly and it's still hard now..

VetriScience chews will never be soft like fudge, however they should be able to be broken between the owner’s fingers (unless they have severe arthritis). Sometimes a piece of bread can be placed into the bag, to help them keep softer.

Very unhappy

It made my dog cpant excessively and drool it does not even compare to the soloquin which worked very well I don't know why they discontinued it and now I can't find it anywhere I'm very unhappy about the discontinuation of the soloquin products in this product made my dog very sick and it did nothing to calm him

Pleasantly surprised!

Love these

The first time we gave our dog this, she had her rabies shot and was unable to walk due to the pain. It calmed her down, gave her the courage to walk to bed & she was brand new in the morning. She got spayed & luckily our vet said we could give to her. It’s the only reason she is able to lay all day and heal. Although we are having to double the dosage due to her increased stress these 100% work! :-)

Not happy at all.

I bought these 'calming' chews because the claim is that within 30 minutes, you'll see calming of anxiety, etc. Nope, absolutely not. Maybe works for others, but not at all for mine.

Miraculous

I have a highly sensitive dog whose thunderstorm fears have gotten so bad that he shakes and pants uncontrollably and sometimes even throws up. Enter Composure, a true game-changer in our house, not only for thunderstorms but also for vet visits. The trick, I've found, is timing: you have to give this BEFORE the storm starts in order for it to work, though it does work fast (I'd say within fifteen minutes or so). We've learned to follow the weather closely, and it's made all the difference in the world. What inspired me to write this review was the moment during a storm a couple of days ago when my pup came into the room wagging at the SAME TIME it was thundering. The word "miraculous" might seem overblown, but if you could see the difference Composure has made in my dog's life, you might agree. :) I hope it helps your family member(s), too!

Subtle but helps

I got these for my dog who is a little anxious and recently became scared to go outside after some bad experiences. After taking this, he is just as reluctant to go outside, but once he is outside he will sniff around and explore a little instead of heading immediately back in after he’s peed or trying to run home after some noise startles him. I hope with some more time using this he will learn that outside isn’t as scary as he expects it to be and get back to enjoying it like he used to. He’s still nervous and jumpy on it, so it’s no miracle cure. This calms him just enough that I can give him treats and actually counter-condition when we’re outside instead of him refusing treats because he was too nervous - and that makes a difference. He also loves the flavor, goes nuts for it.
