VetriScience Composure MAX Liquid Behavioral Health Dog & Cat Formula, 8-oz bottle
Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again.
VetriScience Laboratories’ Composure Max Liquid is a calming support formula recommended for pets that are exposed to increased environmental stressors like moving, a new baby in the house, a trip to the veterinarian, or even a haircut.
Composure helps to alleviate stress-related behavioral issues without affecting the animal’s energy levels or personality. It contains three main ingredients to support calming in cats and dogs: C3 colostrum calming complex, l-theanine and thiamine. The colostrum calming complex is isolated from bioactive colostrum proteins, found to support cognitive function and stress reduction. L-theanine supports calming, relaxation, reduced irritability and low mood states. A naturally occurring amino acid, l-theanine is a derivative of the neurotransmitter glutamic acid that helps to produce other calming amino acids like dopamine and GABA.
The l-theanine in this formula is designed to work synergistically with the calming complex to allow the calming response. Studies on l-theanine show that dogs were alert, playful and calmer than expected given their environment. The B vitamin thiamine (vitamin B1) helps manage stress and reduce irritability, calming nervous and anxious animals. A lack of thiamine can cause confusion, muscle spasms, nervousness, and appetite loss during stressful periods in the animal’s life.
Composure Max Liquid is the same great Composure formula in a convenient liquid delivery system.

Say “Yes” to Less Stress
Prolonged stress and anxiety can cause your dog to act out or even make him ill, leading to issues like inappropriate marking, chewing, aggression and even digestive problems. Composure helps calm dogs with a synergistic blend of colostrum, L-theanine and thiamine, to address stress and stop problems in their tracks. Just give your pup the tasty soft chews or liquid formula at the first sign of stress behavior or during stressful situations.&n

Manage Daily Stress
Composure can be given every day to calm anxious dogs and help those in new and stressful situations cope. The non-herbal, non-pharmaceutical formula has no known side effects and won’t make your pal drowsy or change his personality—he’ll just be his best self! The yummy chews come in three delicious flavors your buddy will love.
Fast Acting, Long Lasting
Composure starts working within 30 minutes, so you can give it as soon as you notice stress behaviors or before stressful situations like trips to the vet. Fireworks, thunderstorms, separation anxiety or just plain old fear don’t need to ruin your pup’s day anymore. The formula keeps working for up to 4 hours, so your best buddy can weather any storm.

Fully Researched Ingredients
The ingredients in Composure have been extensively researched and recognized for their calmative properties. Colostrum Calming Complex helps relieve stress and improve cognition, L-theanine relaxes and lessens irritability, while thiamine acts on the central nervous system to induce calm. All three work together to produce pleasant state of balance and well-being.
Use More if You Need It
During times of heightened stress or when you’re expecting stressful situations to arise, you can safely double or triple the dose. Give extra when phobia triggers arise like noise, encounters with new people or dogs or trips to the vet. The natural formula won’t impair your pup and isn’t addictive like some pharmaceuticals.

No noticeable change
By AB253 on Jan 21, 2021
No noticeable changes with my cat with allergies/inflammation or my cat with aggression/anxiety, but my vet recommended it so I’ll give it more time. An ingredient I do not like is vegetable oil; I don’t even touch vegetable oils. I wish they would use a healthier oil.

Didn't work for my kitty
By Catmom on Oct 3, 2020
This formula has slightly different ingredients than the Composure Pro formula. I was looking for something that didn't have brewer's yeast in it because after about 3 months of daily use of anything with brewer's yeast (hairball treatments too) my cat seems to develop sensitive stomach symptoms. This formula I tried only 1/4 a teaspoon in my cat's food instead of the recommended dose, I don't know if my cat didn't like the taste or if he knew there was something different in his food, but he didn't finish his meal. At my cat's next meal, he refused to eat. So, I just dumped the bottle because I'm not going to try it on him again. When you know what works, why mess with success. I gave this three stars because it was nice to have an alternative to try and I think it might work for other animals successfully. My cat is a CKD cat who has had litter box issues and the Composure Pro has helped tremendously with my cat's improvement. I have since modified using Composure Pro more sparingly. I also use Fel-i-way plug-ins and spray which has practically eliminated the problem of peeing out of the litter box. … more

It works using it this way
By Mjtom3 on Sep 14, 2020
I keep a small pint size plastic container in our bedroom, where a lot of the conflict takes place with out three neutered male cats, age 8, 5,4. All rescued kitties. The 8 year old is bullied constantly, he's also the most mild mannered, just leave me alone type. The 5 yr. old just needs stimulation, he's into everything, wants to play fight, etc. The 4 yr. old was gotten to help give the 5 yr old a playmate. They play but the two youngest is also a full two pounds larger than the 8 yr old. They all sleep in or near the bed at night. I keep Temptation treats and dental chews in the plastic container, I pour a small amount of this Composure Max liquid over the treats and dryer machine I keep a small pint size plastic container in our bedroom, where a lot of the conflict takes place with out three neutered male cats, age 8, 5,4. Horrible, cats won't touch it
By Zukko on Oct 27, 2020
Horrible, my cats won't even touch it even not putting the pull amount in. It was such a waste and I was hoping it'd be good for our very anxious kitty who pulls his fur out. The treats work but he has a hard time eating them because they are so big but this wasn't a good swap at all. Very disappointing

Works!!!!!
By Littledogmom on Jul 12, 2020
I have a 5 year old chihuahua mix I rescued 10 months ago. The shelter told me he was abused. He has fear aggression and pees on everything when he’s stressed. We’ve been working on his confidence through training, but his anxiety will still break through. We tried Benadryl and it did nothing, we tried CBD with minor results. He’s been on composure max liquid for about a week now, twice a day with his food. He has gone his first whole day without growling! He’s much easier to redirect when he gets stressed. He seems like an all around happier dog. I’m a believer. This stuff is a miracle!

This worked in the past
By acoreyz on Jul 14, 2020
Can’t really comment on this time I ordered this item, as my dog was put on prescribed medication shortly after receiving it. However, I can say that this item worked very well for my previous dog (sadly passed away). I would definitely give it a try.

It works a bit and most of my cats will eat it in their food
By Rocketlady on Mar 23, 2020
Since others said their cats wouldn't eat the treat form of this, I got the liquid to add to their food. 4 out of 5 cats take it this way. 1 of 5 cats doesn't eat her food when I put this in, but she does the least fighting anyway. It does calm them down a lot, but they are still fighting.

Didn’t work for bad tempered cat
By Tonia on Mar 19, 2020
Panther is nice with people he knows but really aggressive with strangers or people he doesn’t like. Tried it while I was away but he was still a bad tempered monster with my poor pet sitter. My vet said other people had good luck with it and it’s not expensive so worth a try for your pet

not for us
By VsMom on Apr 22, 2020
My cat, a picky eater, wants nothing to do with this milky liquid. He'd rather not eat than eat anything with this mixed in.

wonderful.
By Lauren on Jan 30, 2020 Top 250 Contributor
Our tiny dog won't eat the treat form, but she loves this, despite being very very picky. It does seem to help her, as she doesn't bark hardly at all after she's had this. Sometimes we put it on her food; other times she will eat it right out of the spoon.
