Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.
This spray helps a little but I could not recommend it as its effects are so short-lived.
My two cats have been having a really tough time with fleas. I tried a behind the neck vet recommended application of a well-known flea fighter. After the third application in the third month I decided it wasn't working at all. So I bought this Vet's Best but after using it (two or three times only) I did not see an improvement. Now I will say neither of my cats tolerated the spray or the hissing noise very well so it was not easy to dose them. Perhaps some more compliant animal would have gotten better results. Hard to say but I think I gave it a good try and it did not work for our flea problem.
I started using this product because my cat has a sensitivity to conventional flea medications. After a couple months of use he developed neurological problems. I took him to the vet and apparently peppermint oil is toxic to cats. According to the vet using this product is a possible cause of his condition.
Very effective but gentle. Vet Best is exactly that! The Best!
Living here in the Mid-West, we always have a flea problem. I've use this Brand for a long time and love it. My Cat doesn't mind it. I will do anything to help her stay safe from fleas! Thank you very much for having this product!!
I can't believe it, but my cats actually tolerated this product! They don't love it; but because the spray is so fine and quiet, they don't realize I've even sprayed. Not at first. They will eventually fight me, but by that time, they've had a good amount of product on their fur! Sneaky but mostly effective. I am noticing less scratching. It smells so good!
Smelled good. Did nothing for the fleas. Maybe good as a prophylactic but not if pet already has fleas. Ask your vet if they recommend it before you buy.
I misted this on all my furniture as well as the cat beds after everything was washed, keeping it about 12in away like hairspray. This definitely helped in addition to my cat's topical pet meds from the vet. The aroma is a bit strong with peppermint so if you're not a fan don't get this product. My cat didn't seem to mind it and didn't avoid his usual spots after I sprayed. If you do spray it on flea dirt, be aware it may cause them to bleed into your fabrics so be sure to wipe/vacuum the flea dirt before spraying. This was a small fleas case, I think if it was more dire you will need something more robust.
Second or third year I am using the product. I love it and more important than that my cats tolerate it. Which is good.
Found out this is the very same as the big bottle, if you want a quick fix this will do for temporary, however, if you have a real problem with fleas use something stronger.
