Increase feed intake 1/2 cup for each 20 lbs over 100 lbs
Amounts are recommended for Adult Dogs with moderate levels of activity and no adverse weather conditions. These are guidelines and should be adjusted as needed to maintain optimum body condition.
FEEDING PUPPIES: Puppies will typically start nibbling moistened dog foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Feed as much as the puppy will clean up in 20 minutes in 4 feeding intervals throughout the day. You may mix with water, broth, or milk at a ratio near 3 parts food and 1 part liquid. Do not leave moistened food out for more than 30 minutes to ensure product freshness. Puppies will be weaned from milk by 8 weeks of age. Continue to feed up to 4 times per day, and within a few months, the puppies can be transitioned to a self - feeder until about 1 year of age. At this point feed so as to maintain good body condition using the feeding chart as a guide.
PREGNANCY AND NURSING: Energy requirements are continually changing during stages of gestation and lactation and may require up to 4 times recommended levels of intake to maintain good body condition. Feed an amount needed to maintain good body condition of your female dog.
It is best to make a transition from one brand of dog food to another over a period of a week to 10 days. Gradually replace your current food with Victor formula increasing the percentage of the mix to 100% within 7 - 10 days.

Where can I find the Lot Code and Best By date on a bag of Victor?
The Lot Code Number and Best By Date can be found on the back side of the bag (New Poly Packaging) above the VICTOR Logo near the top or (Older Paper Packaging) near the bottom seal below the labeling. The Best By Date is one year from the date the product was packaged for what should still be suitable to be fed up to that date as a guideline. Provided the product has been in favorable conditions will determine how suitable for consumption it should be. Keeping the product from being exposed to excessive heat for any amount of time is the best way to maintain the expected shelf life of one year.

I subscribe to an alert email for dog food recalls and there was a link for top-rated dog foods. Victor Active Dog & Puppy Formula Grain-Free Dry Dog Food was on the list, in my price range and contains great ingredients without grains. These are small kibbles and my dogs love this stuff. I am happy to find a quality dry food since my pups are 11 months, 2.5 yrs and 12 yrs old. Highly recommend. Victor - please make your bags resealable. TY

Keeps my Deerhound Puppy Regular

My puppy's breeder recommended this, but NO, I had to try a big name food. He got terrible diarrhea from it. I switched him back to this, and he is right as rain now. He loves this food! It does smell pretty bad, but I keep it in an airtight container, and it keeps the odor contained. I assume the smell is attractive to dogs.

Second bag of Victor dog food that my two young dogs wont touch. Got a different flavor this time. They acted repulsed by the smell. Too rich to feed to my old fat dogs so I will be sending back or donating. Wondering if Victor has changed its formulations as I have always been happy with their products. Fortunately Chewy always makes things right!

He's been on this most of his life, tried wellness complete health he liked it but stools were soft half the time, he liked the Victor high pro plus but his stools were hard and he was having some constipation, switched back to the active dog and puppy and he's regular now with no issues, the Victor hero formula is the same formula just has added joint health

My girl was on victor from 4 1/2 weeks, until a year old! She was very healthy, very active , but I had to start putting salmon or mackerel in her food for her to eat it, idk if they changed something but she just didn’t seem to like it, I switched to the salmon and sweet potato one and she really didn’t like it, the dog food caused no health issues and I wished she liked it! I do recommend this if your dog likes it good !!!!! And the Chewy app, ya it’s awsome!!!!

We have a picky 7 month old active pup. We have tried a bunch of different brands (Racheal Ray, Purina One Pro Plan, Redford) and our pup would be excited the first couple of days, then wouldn't touch it, but not with this food! Our pup has been on Victor for 3 weeks and tears up his food everyday! It makes his poop a little dark because of the high protein content but that was expected. His fur is shiny and soft and he has sooo much energy! The fact that we don't have to mix anything in for him to want it is very comforting! Will definitely be sticking with Victor! ... Only down side would be the lack of fruit, but we simply give it to him ourselves.

Changed the Formula

Our pup went from needing a slow feeding puzzle bowl to spitting out food at me every time he had to eat. Not only did they change the look of the bag, but they changed the formula too. It’s a great brand with great quality— sad that they changed their ingredients!
