Where can I find the Lot Code and Best By date on a bag of Victor?

The Lot Code Number and Best By Date can be found on the back side of the bag (New Poly Packaging) above the VICTOR Logo near the top or (Older Paper Packaging) near the bottom seal below the labeling. The Best By Date is one year from the date the product was packaged for what should still be suitable to be fed up to that date as a guideline. I have a Great Dane puppy. She was eating a grain food when I brought her own and I was given the 40lb bag to finish off. I noticed when she was idle, she would roll on her back and chew on her paws. Someone told me to switch to a grain free and she would stop that habit - surely enough - I switched to Victor grain-free and she doesn’t do it anymore, her coat is silky blue, and she loves the flavor!!!! My girl is always a part of the clean-plate club!!!!

  • 3 month old GSD LOVES it!

    By on

I transitioned by GSD pup over to Victor Active Dog & Puppy from Iams Puppy Large Breed. I took my time, gradually increasing the new food because, honestly, she WAS doing well on the Iams and I did not want to upset her GI system. She did well and we are on the new food completely now. She likes it so much I can use it in training! Also of note, per the breeders recommendation I use K9 Puppy Gold supplement and have continued that with the Victor. I am a fan of Victor foods. My 2 old pugs eat the Senior formula.

  • Food is fine, but directions for amount to feed don't sound right at all

    By on

We bought this for our 10 week old puppy and the directions on the bag say to let the puppy eat as much as it wants for 20 minutes, repeat 4x per day. That sounds like an awful lot, considering our puppy could likely wolf down >1 cup in 20 minutes. We are giving him ~1.5 cups daily over 4 feedings and his growth is on par, not too skinny but not fat. I think we'd definitely be making the way for an obese dog if we followed the directions of the manufacturer.

  • Good decision to Switch

    By on

I started my two newest Labrador pups on the Royal Canin Labrador puppy feed but when one started developing some signs of allergies, I switched to the Victor grain free active and puppy dry food. Just started the second 30 lb bag and the sensitive pup now seems to be better. My Veterinarian has always preached when allergies could be the issue first thing you do is change the diet. VIctor appears to be a really good company and I plan on staying with this feeding program as long as the pups thrive on it.

  • New Puppy Did Not Like This Food

    By on

We welcomed a new Rottie puppy into our home and was told by the breeder that the puppy was being fed Victor food so I bought a bag to have when our little guy came home. The puppy will not eat this food, AT ALL. We are slowly switching him onto a different food mixing the new food with the Victor food. He is picking the new food out and leaving the Victor behind in the bowl?

  • All my dogs doing great on Victors!

    By on

All my dogs are doing great on Victors. One of the other foster parents in our rescue org. recommended it and all my dogs love it ... including my new rescue puppy. I wish there was a feeding schedule for the puppy. I keep calling their customer service to get feeding schedule for my fast growing pup. But they are SO nice, that I really don't mind!

  • Good food until I tried another food

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I thought this food would be my holy grail after switching from a 4-star brand. My dog maintained a decent amount of weight on this food, but I would have to feed 8 cups a day, which got expensive quickly. This formula is suppose to be sensitive, but my dog was prone to itchiness, eye residue, constant blow-out sheeding and had inconsistent poops. Upon switching, I realized life could be much better without Victor. Some dogs thrive off this brand, mine did not and I am glad I switched off.

  • My dog loves it

    By on

My dog is a picky eater. She got tired of the food she was on since she was a puppy, so I switched her to a different brand and she didn’t care for it and almost always had an upset stomach. Then I tried Victor. She absolutely loves it and has never had an upset stomach on it! I highly recommended.

  • Excellent nutrition and highly digestible!

    By on

Our new pup arrived with food from breeder ‘the one that sponsors Westminster’ for transitioning to her new food. She picked out the Victor kibbles and left the other brand in the bowl. Still mixing it after a couple of days but she’s a true Victor fan. My other two dachshunds love the mature, less active version. Winning nutrition for my Dachshund family!
