Amounts are recommended for Adult Dogs with moderate levels of activity and no adverse weather conditions. These are guidelines and should be adjusted as needed to maintain optimum body condition.
FEEDING PUPPIES: Puppies will typically start nibbling moistened dog foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Feed as much as the puppy will clean up in 20 minutes in 4 feeding intervals throughout the day. You may mix with water, broth, or milk at a ratio near 3 parts food and 1 part liquid. Do not leave moistened food out for more than 30 minutes to ensure product freshness. Puppies will be weaned from milk by 8 weeks of age. Continue to feed up to 4 times per day, and within a few months, the puppies can be transitioned to a self - feeder until about 1 year of age. At this point feed so as to maintain good body condition using the feeding chart as a guide.
PREGNANCY AND NURSING: Energy requirements are continually changing during stages of gestation and lactation and may require up to 4 times recommended levels of intake to maintain good body condition. Feed an amount needed to maintain good body condition of your female dog.
It is best to make a transition from one brand of dog food to another over a period of a week to 10 days. Gradually replace your current food with Victor formula increasing the percentage of the mix to 100% within 7 - 10 days.

I have been using Victor's "Active dog & Puppy" formula for my german shepherd puppy since we got him at 8 weeks. He is now 5 months old and has a BEAUTIFUL coat, great energy, and is an overall a happy, healthy puppy! I was so impressed that I also decided to switch my cat to their dry food! I always like to wait a while before writing a review in order to see results, and I can say that Victor is without a doubt, the best food you can give your animals. Although it is a little more expensive than other brands, it is completely worth it. (And of course chewy is awesome)

Son and daughter in law were getting a new Golden puppy so I started researching for the best foods with the right amount of proteins and no mystery ingredients. I found on Dog Food Advisor that Victors was a top food and hey it had pictures of Goldens on the food bag. This puppy was 1 of 10 born on a farm and was outdoors with his fur family so I could imagine what he had been eating (same food as his Dam and Sire which was a rating of 1 on a scale of 1 to 5). Based on the ingredients and the company which has been in business for a number of years - family owned - and never a recall I took a chance and purchased my first bag. The wonderful thing is he has had no stomach issues and his stools were well formed. Looks like Victors' is a winner and we will continue feeding throughout the puppy stage. Because I am happy with the results I plan to transition the older 7yr Golden's food from another brand to Victors Grain Free. I like the fact that the bag weights are a little larger than other premium foods and there are varieties to provide some other healthy proteins. Chewy is definitely the way to go as far as pricing and fast home delivery. I shop at Chewy for various pet products and have never been disappointed. Great customer service and they answer any pet food questions that you may have quickly with a cute quirky response. … more

Great dog food, fed this to my American Bulldog when he was a bit younger, he was having issues with losing hair on his rear legs and dry patches overall, had him on this for close to 3 months. Issues cleared up and his activity level stayed high. I have sensed switched him to Victor Nutra Pro but will start all my puppies out on Victor Active Dog & Puppy Formula Grain-Free Dry Dog Food moving forward. I have always taken care of all my bulldogs and given them highly rated foods but the other highly rated brand will no longer be an option for any of my boys. It's VICTOR(Active Dog & Puppy or Nutra Pro) or Orijen. FYI, Merrick was pretty good too.

I transitioned by GSD pup over to Victor Active Dog & Puppy from Iams Puppy Large Breed. I took my time, gradually increasing the new food because, honestly, she WAS doing well on the Iams and I did not want to upset her GI system. She did well and we are on the new food completely now. She likes it so much I can use it in training! Also of note, per the breeders recommendation I use K9 Puppy Gold supplement and have continued that with the Victor. I am a fan of Victor foods. My 2 old pugs eat the Senior formula.

I am 100% pleased with the product. The food was fresh smelling and seemed on point. The package wasn't abused or mis-handled. To top it off it arrived 2 days earlier than expected and I will DEFINATELY be ordering from Chewy.com again. Thank you!

Our Great Dane puppy was on this food when we got him. I bought the first few bags from a local pet shop. Chewy's price beat the pet shop by almost $12 per bag!!! Our 8 month old Dane eats a bag of this every 3 weeks so the free auto-ship saves me a lot of time from driving to the pet store. This month he ate more and I needed it before the 3 week mark. I went online and with a few clicks I moved the date up.

I wanted a high quality, high protein food for my Border Collie puppy. He was on Iams when we got him from the breeder and then I put him on Sam's Club brand grain-free puppy food which he did AWFUL on. He had runny poo and gas. I found Victor puppy food and never looked back! He did very well on this food. I also did a lot of research on Victor as a company and was very pleased to find out they use a lot of locally sourced ingredients, it's made in Texas, USA, they are a small family owned company, and they've never had a dog food recall. What's not to like?!

We have four small dogs and they absolutely love this food. We chose Victor because of their reputation, they have been established since 1950 with zero recalls. Victor is also rated five out of five in nutrition.

All my dogs love this food, they eat it without objection, the small sz kibble is perfect for them, my dogs are under 20 lbs. Great food, great price, even my puppy can eat it since it's all life stages, no issues at all, no upset stomach or diarrhea+highly recommend this food.
