When changing from another food, make the transition by increasing the percentage of Mer’s and decreasing the old brand over a 7 day period of time. We recommend taking your cat to the Veterinarian 1-2 times per year for “Health” checkups.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of preservatives are used in VICTOR?

VICTOR is made with only Natural Plant Based Preservatives. A unique blend of mixed tocopherols for superior free radical absorption and of botanically-sourced antioxidants are added to the protein and fat ingredients we use to stabilize and naturally prevent oxidative damage. No artificially based preservatives are added to our product.

Why is it so important that there is no corn, wheat, or soy in VICTOR?

Corn, Wheat, and Soy have all been identified as potential allergens for some dogs and cats.

Where can I find the Lot Code and Best By date on a bag of Victor?

The Lot Code Number and Best By Date can be found on the back side of the bag (New Poly Packaging) above the VICTOR Logo near the top or (Older Paper Packaging) near the bottom seal below the labeling. The Best By Date is one year from the date the product was packaged for what should still be suitable to be fed up to that date as a guideline. Provided the product has been in favorable conditions will determine how suitable for consumption it should be. Keeping the product from being exposed to excessive heat for any amount of time is the best way to maintain the expected shelf life of one year.

  • my new cat food

    By on

I am cat lover. Have regular cats, purebred cats, all kinds of adorable cats. Inside and out. I tried this because my cats just weren't do as well as I expected. Tried several brands. I have one very old cat and one who is disabled. Both were losing weight. Now, I feed my dogs this brand so it occurred to me to try with kitties. Well, I tried this and a few cats were picky and most just devoured it. I don't care if they are bit picky, going to give it a try. So now they all eat it and I will never switch. This is great brand. Kitties are gaining weight and doing much better. Have to admit I was surprised.

  • Too Soon to Tell for my cats - my dogs thrive on Victor

    By on

I'm giving this a 5 because my dogs thrive on Victor. I didn't know they made cat food too. I bought this 2wks ago, we are still transitioning over from the old food to this. We have 4 cats, so we transition slowly. Unfortunately to them, we have changed their food a couple of times, this year, trying to find a happy medium for all them. Our main goal is to stop the vomiting. The description mentions healthy coat, digestive, etc. Seeing this in my dogs on their Victor food, I know this is true. The price is reasonable for the quality of the food and quantity you receive.

  • Shape of food works well, but kitty is not liking this food and is vomiting.

    By on

I looked all around for a food that did not have a round shape, and this food fit the bill. Our one cat had been having food (from another brand) that was round being stuck in his gums. This food never got stuck in his gums, but after 2 months of being on this food, he is vomiting the food up, not good, so we will be giving up on this food and trying something else that hopefully he will not vomit.I like the idea of this food being made in the states and not being a huge major brand, hopefully it will work for other kitties.

  • Our cats like it.

We decided to try Victor since our other brand is no longer with Chewy. I was skeptical that my cats would like it, but so far they seem to love it. Just ordered some Victor Hi-Pro for the dog, I'm hoping he will be okay with the switch too.

  • The clowder has spoken and it's a hit!

    By on

I had previously been feeding my cats a pricier brand but after several expensive things happened I switched to Victor because it was more affordable, had great reviews, and had chicken as the first ingredient. I was a bit bummed out that it wasn't grain-free but that hasn't bothered my cats at all. They all love this food and it is rare to find something the six of them all agree on. It does seem to leave a greasy residue but that doesn't seem to bother anyone.

  • My Cats Avoided This Food.

    By on Top 100 Contributor

I have 2 adult male cats and they usually eat any food that I put in their dry food bowl. This is the only dry cat food that they avoided and didn't even nibble on. They just sniffed it and turned the other way. This cat food looks good on paper with all the great ingredients, but not to my cats. I have a 5 month old pup that thrives on Victors dog version. Thankfully Chewy's customer service is amazing and I will donate this food to an animal shelter.

  • Love this food!

    By on

Recently got a cat who was used to eating this food, so I thought I would see if its worth it. It definitely is! His coat is so soft and he hardly sheds. He looks so healthy, and has a crazy amount of energy. My neighbor has commented that his cats fur is more rough and they shed a lot just petting them. I highly recommend this food!

  • I was worried

    By on

I thought my cats would have an issue transitioning to this (they have with every other food) but it was a seamless transition, and they're as loud as ever for breakfast and dinner time. Haven't noticed any real changes in coat or dandruff (we live in the deep desert), but it hasn't been a month yet, will advise.

Don't know how it will work out in the long-term but my cat loves it and grain-free ingredients are so good for her.
