When changing from another food, make the transition by increasing the percentage of Mer’s and decreasing the old brand over a 7 day period of time. We recommend taking your cat to the Veterinarian 1-2 times per year for “Health” checkups.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of preservatives are used in VICTOR?

VICTOR is made with only Natural Plant Based Preservatives. A unique blend of mixed tocopherols for superior free radical absorption and of botanically-sourced antioxidants are added to the protein and fat ingredients we use to stabilize and naturally prevent oxidative damage. No artificially based preservatives are added to our product.

Why is it so important that there is no corn, wheat, or soy in VICTOR?

Corn, Wheat, and Soy have all been identified as potential allergens for some dogs and cats.

Where can I find the Lot Code and Best By date on a bag of Victor?

The Lot Code Number and Best By Date can be found on the back side of the bag (New Poly Packaging) above the VICTOR Logo near the top or (Older Paper Packaging) near the bottom seal below the labeling. The Best By Date is one year from the date the product was packaged for what should still be suitable to be fed up to that date as a guideline. Provided the product has been in favorable conditions will determine how suitable for consumption it should be. Keeping the product from being exposed to excessive heat for any amount of time is the best way to maintain the expected shelf life of one year.

  • My Cats Avoided This Food.

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I have 2 adult male cats and they usually eat any food that I put in their dry food bowl. This is the only dry cat food that they avoided and didn't even nibble on. They just sniffed it and turned the other way. This cat food looks good on paper with all the great ingredients, but not to my cats. I have a 5 month old pup that thrives on Victors dog version. Thankfully Chewy's customer service is amazing and I will donate this food to an animal shelter.

  • Love this food!

    By on

Recently got a cat who was used to eating this food, so I thought I would see if its worth it. It definitely is! His coat is so soft and he hardly sheds. He looks so healthy, and has a crazy amount of energy. My neighbor has commented that his cats fur is more rough and they shed a lot just petting them. I highly recommend this food!

  • I was worried

    By on

I thought my cats would have an issue transitioning to this (they have with every other food) but it was a seamless transition, and they're as loud as ever for breakfast and dinner time. Haven't noticed any real changes in coat or dandruff (we live in the deep desert), but it hasn't been a month yet, will advise.

  • A great product, but...

    By on

The ingredients in this cat food are what a cat needs without all the unnatural fillers. Unfortunately, my cats don't like It but they eat it cause I won't give them any other dry food. It may take a little time to get use to it. However, my dogs go crazy for Victor dog food.

  • What's in this cat food????

    By on

I don't know what it is about this cat food, because my daughter raves about Victor for her dogs, so I thought why not? My cats, I have 6, would not touch it, none of them. Accidentally bought 2 bags, ugh, I'll donate the unopened one to the shelter. Can't say why my cats don't like it but they did not.

  • Our stinkiest cat smells better on Victor and the litter box smells better.

    By on

We have one cat that would smell like brimstone at the best of times and rotten cabbage and/or skunk at the worst. We ordered the Victor food for a new cat that was fed Victor by a previous owner. As our stinky cat began stealing the other cat's food, the brimstone odor diminished. We switched her to Victor and she no longer has the brimstone odor. We no longer have sulfur compound odors from the litter box.
