Description

Virbac Allergroom is a shampoo designed for frequent use on normal or dry skin in dogs and cats to optimize the skin and hair coat condition. Spherulites Microcapsules, an exclusive encapsulation system, provides a slow release of ingredients long after product application. Creates a protective film on the skin and hair with chitosanide. This natural biopolymer reinforces the hydrating and restoring effects of the formulation, helping to protect the skin against damage from the environment. May help delay onset of skin irritation due to topical bacteria or yeast. Anti-adhesive glycotechnology disrupts microorganism colonization on the skin surface.

  • What Relief for Bob

    By on

Bob suffers from skin allergies. We have tried to change food & eliminate the problem and yet he, who is an INDOOR cat, still has problems. The vet said it was fleas at first, even though there were only a couple of fleas, but once the 2 treatments of antibiotics & steroids wore off & within 30 more days he was loosing his fur & scratching again, it was labeled allergies. This is the ONLY product I have found that is not harmful to him & actually works at keeping the allergens off of him. . . signalling it is NOT the food, but environmental, even though he's indoors. He HATS getting wet so I keep it on him 5 minutes instead of the recommended 10, and he bites us if we keep him in the water too Bob suffers from skin allergies. I have to repeat monthly on the nose or he begins itching again! I am going to try to let him out of the water with it on & get him back in to rinse after the 10 minutes. I will just need to make sure he doesn't lick it. … more

  • My dog has hot spots and non-stop itching

    By on

OMG. This is a lifesaver. I am so glad I read the reviews and bought it. My 8 month old lab has always itched and kept biting to the point of having bald spots everywhere. I didn't know what to do. I tried fish oil in his food, changed his dog food to a sensitive skin one, and even bought GNC hots spot spray from Petsmart (which works, but makes him smell like urine), and then I got this glorious shampoo and after one bath he didn't itch for days! I am going to follow the directions of bathing twice a week until his itching subsides and his hair grows back. He's also on an allergy pill, but nothing has worked like this AMAZING shampoo. This will be a staple item in my house for my pup!

  • Eases both my dogs

    By on

My veterinarian recommended Allergroom for my Pekingese when he had an allergic response to grains that made him itch and lose his undercoat. I changed his food and his coat is gorgeous again, but he still has some itching. A bath with Allergroom eases him and makes his fur beautifully soft. I rescued a Lhasa Apso last year. He gets itchy too and Allergroom seems to give him some relief. It soothes their skin without irritation. It's expensive, but just a little goes a long way. No shampoo alone can solve your dog's allergy suffering, but this product can be part of your efforts to keep him or her comfortable.

We love Chewy for dog food delivery! Recently added an allergy shampoo for one of our bulldogs. Seems to have helped with the itching along with her allergy pill. We have had no problem changing the dates of delivery as they have grown.

  • Definitely a must have in our household!

Did a great job of stopping our Corgi from itching! She would itch ALL NIGHT LONG. It also was instrumental in bringing out her undercoat even after she had a date with our FURminator.

  • Great shampoo!

I've only used once, but so far, I think it is a gentle shampoo and won't dry out their skin. I like the very mild scent also.

I've used this on my labradoodle since my vet recommended it. For the past three years this is the only product I have used. It rinses well and there has been no irritation. His hair is smooth and he smells good too!
