I have a cat that gets frequent ear buildup. My vet recommended EpiOtic and I used most of the bottle. My cat absolutely hated it and the whole ear cleaning process. It did have a very strong unpleasant smell, and the cat could smell me coming with it and would run and hide. When it was time to get more, I researched other brands and purchased a different cleaner. It has been easier to use the new brand and the cleaning and smell is far superior. Cannot recommend EpiOtic.
I have a Springer Spaniel and his ears are always dirty. I like Epi-Otic because I can use a few drops in his ears and let it set for a couple of minutes. During that time my Springer will shake his head a few times. Then I can wipe out his outer ear. This product helps loosen wax in his ear canal so that he can shake it out a bit. I have to clean his ears at least once a week.
My calico's ears were a mess. She may have mites. This cleaned out her ears but she growled if I rubbed anywhere near her ears for a day or two after. Took me 2 attempts. One star off because neither of us are fans of the smell which lingered for a few days.
What would I do without this? My dog is a retriever with floppy ears and prone to ear infections of not kept dry. This was prescribed by my vet. She hates it when I use it, so I place the bottle in warm water to get the solution up to her body temp. She tolerates it now. Best product out there. Thank you Chewy for getting this to me immediately and for a better price than Amazon!
I purchased this in November for my cat and noticed that it was an eye irritant, so I waited to open it making sure that my cat's eye infection had cleared. Several ingredients are questionably safe and the horrific fragrance of this product smelled like a restroom deodorizer. It would be an insult to the sensitive nature of any cat and I threw it out. This product should be removed from the market.
Abi and Sahara do not like getting their ears cleaned, but once I start they do not mind. It is easy to use and does get the dirt out...
This is the best ear cleaner on the market. I've had the pleasure of owning multiply floopy ear dogs. No other ear cleaner works better then Epii-Otic.
Weekly applications of EpiOtic on a cotton ball have kept my standard poodle's ears clean and sweet-smelling. Over four years, she has never had an ear infection and has never needed her ear hairs plucked.
I use this ear cleaner as a routine after my pup bathing and grooming at home. We do wash his face and ear and everything. After that we wash hips ears with this product and wipe off with cotton balls. He does not get ear infection at all.
I think this ear cleaner does the job it's supposed to do but the scent is so strong I had to wash my puppy's whole head when she shook it after application. It's not like it's an offensive or bad smell, but it is WAY too strong. Think Fabuloso...not kidding!
