    They won't eat it

I purchased this seed mix due to the rating but have found that my canaries won't eat it. It looks like a good mix and smells fresh. Shortly I will be adding to my aviary so I will see how the new finches like it.

    Great Mix!

    By on

This is a great mix! I have a 25 year old cockatiel (he's been with me since he was nine weeks old), and has always loved canary grass seed. He eats it first, then selectively eats other seeds in the mix. Most cockatiel blends use a heavy amount of millet seed, and really skimp on the canary grass seed. Over the years, I've ended up having to mix a quality canary seed blend with cockatiel seed to give my guy an abundance of his favorites. I've noticed that even a lot of canary blends these days are loaded with more millet than actual canary grass seed, which is why this Vitakraft blend if superior: Generous amounts of Canary grass seed. My old guy is happy!
